"Feels like something's watching me."

Wanda edged closer to Deathstroke and turned to look into the darkness behind them. The two of them had actually gone deep underground, inside the enormous upright mass of earth. Other than the ball of red energy in her hand, there wasn't a single source of light here.

Naturally, there was nothing behind them.

Their voices echoed continuously through the corridor littered with debris and wreckage. The even darker shapes within the darkness were merely broken building materials or weathered bones.

Su Ming glanced up at the path they had taken to get here. After thinking for only a moment, he put on the air of someone with nothing to worry about.

"Didn't expect you to know about this too. Don't worry, I know what to do without you reminding me."

"Huh?"

Wanda looked utterly bewildered. Deathstroke had walked to a corner of the room, crouched down, and lit a candle. Its faint yellow flame swayed as it cast their shadows onto the wall.

The atmosphere became even more eerie.

"Before opening a coffin, you light a candle in the southeast corner of the burial chamber. Whether it goes out or not, I'm still going to strip the corpse clean, but life needs a little sense of ritual." Su Ming returned to the treatment pod and confidently answered Wanda as he casually lifted its cover. "Watch me perform a special trick: two fingers probing the cave."

As he spoke, he thrust two fingers into the corpse's nostrils with a swoosh, then gently lifted upward. The upper half of the head separated from the jaw.

The stiff flesh, bone, and skin made a sound like tearing paper. Muscle fibers and spinal cord were stretched long in the process.

"!!!"

Wanda's jaw seemed to drop as well.
