After midnight, the church was pitch-black inside. Only faint moonlight squeezed through holes in the windows and gaps in the boards into this place that even rats refused to visit.
The pews were covered in patches, while the holy image on the cross had lost all its paint, exposing mottled iron beneath. From the side, it was obvious that the Bible on the pulpit was missing many pages. Jesse had probably used them when his stomach hurt and there was no toilet paper.
Spider webs filled the corners of the ceiling, while a huge pool of blood lay before the altar. At that moment, a gaunt, wild-haired figure was holding a mop and cleaning it up.
It was not just the blood that needed cleaning. Guts and all sorts of things from inside the stomach had spilled everywhere, seeping through the cracks between the floorboards. Getting rid of the smell was the hardest part.
"Ugh, what rotten luck. My nose is too sensitive, so I always feel like I can smell something." The man kept talking to himself and swallowed hard. "All this work is making me hungry. No, I can't go hunting. I want to be a good person."

The Priest was drunk every day and probably did not even know he was a Vampire. Still, setting that aside, the two of them got along quite well, so this bloodsucker became the Gate Keeper.
It was rather ironic. The church was the Lord's sacred dwelling, yet this place had seen murders and Vampires alike, turning it into a complete mess.
"Ow, my back." Cassidy
