"Mom? Dad? Cassandra? Why are you here? It's too dangerous!"

Ignoring his own injuries, Tony scrambled to his feet and hurriedly grabbed his parents. He pressed himself anxiously against the rubble and peered outside, trying to see whether that monster named something-or-other Agua had followed them.

The Synthezoid production line on Contraxia had been designed by Howard and built by Adjutant back in the day, using some of the technology Deathstroke had acquired from Kang the Conqueror. Even the lowest-grade Synthezoid prostitutes were nearly indistinguishable from living people; only the charging port hidden beneath the scalp at the back of their heads could easily give them away.

The advanced Synthezoids, meanwhile, were equipped with New Element Arc Reactors. They needed no charging and naturally had none of those miscellaneous ports. Whether it was the color and temperature of their skin or their gazes and expressions, they were practically identical to real people.

They were neither Clones nor robots. Synthezoids were a choice that landed neatly between the two, maximizing cost-effectiveness.

As for the real Howard and Maria, the couple was currently somewhere safe at the TVA. The real Cassandra and her parents were there as well, watching a live broadcast of what was happening here.

Maria actually had some objections to Deathstroke's plan.

Being reunited after losing someone was supposed to be a happy thing. Tony had guessed that his parents were not dead, and he and Cassandra could rekindle their old relationship. Learning that his family could all return to his side should have been a moment of joy.

But now Deathstroke was about to stage another scene where his parents and lover died before his eyes. That meant finding them again, only to lose them again.
