Background / History
Heaven Mending Pavilion preserves a lineage dating back to antiquity. At its height, a Divine Fire Realm Sacrificial Spirit protected it, only a Venerable could become pavilion master, and even its weakest grand elders had reached advanced Array Formation. Its first and second grand elders were usually Venerables themselves 26.
By Xiao Tian’s arrival, the pavilion no longer has a Venerable presiding over it. Its guardian is aged and wounded, while its master remains just short of the Venerable Realm. Elder Han attributes the master’s stalled cultivation to his having missed the opportunity to train in the Hundred Broken Mountains 26 30 33.
The pavilion’s deceased founding patriarch remains as Ghost Master. He haunts exceptional talents and demands that they recover his lost Broken Sword from the Hundred Broken Mountains. These missions have killed numerous prodigies and elders, further weakening the institution 30 33 43.

Gourd Vine Sacrificial Spirit
- Condition: The six-meter vine has yellowed, with sparse withered leaves and a small green gourd. Despite its sickly appearance, it retains a divine presence that inspires worship 32.
- Renewed activity: Phenomena accompanying Xiao Tian’s Seventh Brother panel fusion awaken the vine’s active absorption of solar, lunar, and stellar essence 32.
- Breakthrough opportunity: The vine gains insight into a possible True God, or True One, breakthrough and Nirvana Rebirth. This is an opportunity, not a completed advancement; age, old wounds, and insufficient undying substance remain obstacles 32.
- Instruction: Its improved condition allows it to teach Xiao Tian and Shi Hao its own treasure art 32 33.
- Transportation: With a reinforced formation, it opens a passage that carries the expedition across 1.8 million li in less than the time needed to drink a cup of tea 33.
- Fountain of Youth: The elders request this treasure for the pavilion; Shi Hao identifies the ailing guardian as its likely intended recipient 31 32.
Recruitment and Training
Admission
- Eligibility: The pavilion recruits talented youths rather than adult applicants. Great clans, ancient kingdoms, minor clans, and wandering cultivators all send prospective disciples 26.
- Entrance trials: Formation-based testing evaluates candidates’ physical abilities. The Eighth Zone uses gravity generated through Primordial Treasure Bones serving as formation foundations 26.
- Selection standards: The recruitment shown uses harder formations than the previous two selections because more talented applicants have arrived 26.
- Formal entry: Accepted disciples pay respects to the founding master before receiving accommodation 27.
- Recruitment cycle: Heaven Mending Pavilion and Deer-Chasing Academy normally stagger their recruitment periods by three years 23.
Disciple Groups
| Group | Documented Features |

- Personal guidance: The four senior veterans keep Xiao Tian in the Ancient Hall and instruct him while investigating whether he is Bear Child 28 29.

Grounds and Resources

- Golden Gourd: Tao Ye’s rare treasure, produced by the guardian in its early years and containing divine essence. It can absorb clouds and snowfall 28 29.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Disrupted Entrance Trials
Shi Hao removes the treasure bones sustaining the Eighth Zone’s formation, eliminating its pressure. More than eight thousand candidates consequently pass that zone, alarming Xiong Fei and Zhuo Yun. After selection, over three thousand new disciples remain—more than half again the usual intake 26 27.
Mistaken Identity and Ghost Master
After Xiao Tian overwhelms Yu Feng, Tao Ye brings him before the senior veterans, who suspect that he is Bear Child. Shi Hao’s subsequent arrival clarifies the situation, but Ghost Master takes an interest in both boys. The elders secure their agreement to enter the Hundred Broken Mountains and seek the Fountain of Youth 28 29 30 31.
Guardian’s Awakening
Xiao Tian’s check-in beside the Gourd Vine produces phenomena that benefit the guardian and improve its condition. During the encounter, Xiao Tian opens his eleventh Heavenly Grotto and Shi Hao his seventh; the vine then offers to teach them before their departure 32.
Hundred Broken Mountains Expedition
Tao Ye escorts six pavilion disciples: Xiao Tian, Shi Hao, and four privately tutored students. Xiao Tian uses his Heavenly Eye to guide the group through the entrance passage, then provides medicinal meals that support their cultivation 33 35 36.
The pavilion’s two leading entrants become notorious among other races for hunting and eating fierce beasts. By the treasure-artifact encounters, their companions and cooking pot are enough to reveal their identity and alarm nearby competitors 49.
Threatened Destruction
Xiao Tian knows that, in the original storyline, four Venerables besiege the Gourd Vine and hostile factions destroy Heaven Mending Pavilion. That destruction has not occurred in the supplied chapters. The guardian’s renewed vitality creates a possible divergence, with the Fountain of Youth offering hope that it might live another lifetime 23 24 33.
