Luffy and the others escaped a Marine base with a huge haul of food after Luffy defeated three Marine officers, while Vice Admiral Prod avoided a fight because Moonlight was present. Three days later, the crew ran out of food again, and Moonlight suspected a powerful Sea Beast was driving other creatures away from the surrounding waters.

• Luffy drew a Marine pursuit while carrying an enormous sack of food, then fought Grant, Burnham, and Zephyr after they cornered him.
• Luffy defeated the three officers, heard their names and vow to beat him someday, and left with Moonlight and the others.
• Vice Admiral Prod explained that he had not attacked because Moonlight, the Straw Hat Pirates' one-billion-Beli vice-captain, was with them.
• Aboard the Thousand Sunny, the crew stored their supplies, but Luffy's appetite and their lack of cooking skills depleted the food within three days.
• Moonlight began fishing for the starving crew and suspected a ruler-class Sea Beast was keeping other sea creatures away.

Moonlight and the others caught a poisonous fish while starving at sea, leaving Luffy poisoned as they sailed toward Big Mom’s waters. They encountered Germa 66, where a woman resembling Sanji kissed Luffy and began drawing the poison out of him.

• After three days without food, Luffy ate most of a brightly colored fish and collapsed from its poison.
• Moonlight told Nami, Brook, and Carrot that Luffy’s antibodies from Magellan’s poison would keep him alive, so they hurried toward Big Mom’s waters to find a doctor.
• A huge ship marked with the number 66 approached the Thousand Sunny, and Moonlight recognized it as belonging to the Vinsmoke Family.
• A man in a green Raid Suit attacked the crew, but a pink-haired woman kicked him into the sea and landed on the Thousand Sunny.
• The woman kissed Luffy and began absorbing the poison from his body as her butterfly-shaped wings glowed green.

Vinsmoke Reiju and Vinsmoke Yonji revealed that they were Sanji’s siblings and that the Vinsmoke Family planned to use him in a marriage alliance with Big Mom. Moonlight drove them away after they threatened the Straw Hat crew, and Brook began explaining Germa 66.

• Vinsmoke Reiju revealed that she was Sanji’s older sister and introduced Vinsmoke Yonji as his younger brother, identifying them as members of Germa 66.
• Vinsmoke Yonji said Sanji was to become a bargaining chip in a marriage alliance with Big Mom and warned Moonlight’s group to leave.
• Nami, Brook, and Carrot defended Sanji, and Moonlight struck Vinsmoke Reiju and Vinsmoke Yonji with his sword, forcing them back to their warship.

Luffy's group met Charlotte Pudding at her shop, where she revealed that she was Sanji's fiancée. After a mysterious disturbance shook Chocolate Island, Pudding said Big Mom had caused it, leaving Moonlight questioning her about Sanji's whereabouts and what had happened to Big Mom.

• Nami apologized to Pudding for the damage to her shop, while Brook admired her and Moonlight recognized her as Charlotte Pudding.

• Pudding told Moonlight that Sanji had been taken to Whole Cake Island for a wedding agreement with Germa 66 and explained that Big Mom's Eating Disorder caused her destructive rampages.

• Jinbe gave Big Mom a box of pastries, calming her rampage and restoring her to normal.
• Jinbe told Big Mom he had something to discuss, and she invited him to her castle.

Katakuri, Cracker, and Smoothie learned that the Straw Hat Pirates had reached the Bewildering Woods, while Moonlight sensed their approach and warned his crew. As Mink Tribe warriors surrounded the crew, Moonlight unleashed his Sky-Breaking Iai Slash.

• Katakuri heard that the Straw Hat Pirates had entered the Bewildering Woods, and Cracker warned the others not to underestimate them.
• A King's Soldier reported that Luffy, Moonlight, Nami, Brook, and a Mink Tribe member were present, prompting Cracker and Smoothie to prepare to act.

• Katakuri blocked Moonlight's final slash and sent Oven and Daifuku into the castle to stop Luffy.
• Moonlight and Katakuri clashed, and Katakuri discovered that Moonlight could anticipate attacks with Observation Haki.

• Bege said he planned to ruin the tea party in three days, and Moonlight lowered his sword when Chiffon vouched for him.
• Luffy recognized Caesar among the men, learned that Caesar had stopped experimenting, and then admitted he had not heard the group’s conversation.

Jinbe and Capone Bege recruited Luffy’s group to help them escape Big Mom by exploiting her weakness at the tea party. Three days later, Sanji and Pudding’s engagement banquet began under heavy security, while Katakuri and Big Mom’s forces expected Moonlight and the Straw Hat Crew to arrive.
