Yanbai tried to heal a wounded Uchiha so he could copy the man’s abilities, but Tobirama Senju killed him before Yanbai could finish. Back in Senju territory, Tobirama confronted Yanbai over aiding their enemy, and Yanbai remained silent as Tobirama demanded an answer.
Yanbai explained to Tobirama Senju why he had gone to the battlefield, while privately planning to keep copying other clans’ abilities despite his broken system. Butsuma Senju put Tobirama in charge of keeping Yanbai inside the clan grounds as Hashirama Senju’s meeting with Madara Uchiha drew closer.
Yanbai kept Hashirama under constant healing and planned to copy Madara Uchiha’s abilities without triggering Tobirama’s suspicion. He began healing animals around the Senju grounds, and Tobirama finally understood that Yanbai was doing it to gain their skills.
Yanbai escaped Tobirama Senju with help from animals and hurried through the forest to find Hashirama Senju. He found Hashirama with Madara Uchiha at a stream, where the two boys began their first meeting over skipping stones.
Madara Uchiha tried to skip stones while Hashirama Senju watched, but his frustration turned into an argument and Hashirama’s tale about his clingy little sister. The two returned to competing over stone-skipping, with Hashirama again disarming Madara by acting pitiful.
Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha met by the river before parting after discovering a Hagoromo Clan corpse. Yanbai then found Madara, healed his hidden injuries, and left while lamenting the useless reward he received from the system.
Yanbai reunited with Hashirama and followed him and Tobirama to the Senju cemetery, where the clan buried its dead. Expecting Butsuma to strike him, Yanbai approached his father but dodged the slap, leaving the confrontation unresolved.
Yanbai confronted Butsuma Senju over being expected to heal wounded clansmen, explaining the mental suffering his healing caused and arguing that the adults’ wars were responsible for the deaths. After his brothers defended him, Yanbai urged them to reject cycles of revenge and pursue peace, leaving Hashirama to consider whether an alliance was possible.
Yanbai slipped out at night to help a hen lay eggs and made egg fried rice with Tobirama, then drew attention away from Hashirama’s secret meetings with Madara. At the river, Hashirama told Madara Yanbai’s outrageous plan for ending their clans’ conflict by surrendering and forcing their enemies to feed and house them.
Yanbai used his strength to “correct” Tobirama Senju’s teeth and other supposed physical flaws, repeatedly beating and healing him. By dusk, Itama Senju and Senju Kawarama had also been subjected to the same treatment, and all three younger brothers begged Hashirama Senju to take Yanbai away.
Hashirama Senju became Yanbai’s minder, while Yanbai quietly trained by pushing his body to its limits and healing himself. As Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha continued meeting and sparring, Yanbai cooked for them and kept working on his own plans.
Yanbai cooked for Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha while secretly trying to gain their abilities, then worked to keep their friendship intact. In spring, Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha raced up a cliff and left Yanbai behind below.
Yanbai revealed that Madara’s family had discovered his meetings with Hashirama and warned that Madara’s father would order him to kill Hashirama. After admitting he had known Madara’s identity from their first meeting, Yanbai urged them to find a way through the danger and left them wondering what he had planned.
Yanbai persuaded Madara Uchiha to help pursue peace between the Senju and Uchiha Clans, proposing a cover story to hide their friendship. The chapter ended with Madara realizing Yanbai might know how to awaken the Sharingan.
Yanbai staged an intimate embrace with Madara to provoke Izuna, then pushed Madara into awakening his Sharingan. Yanbai left after warning Madara to keep their connection secret, while Izuna ran to report the silver-haired girl to Tajima.
Yanbai prepared a cover story before returning to the Senju compound, but Butsuma, Tobirama, and Hashirama found him in the forest and confronted him. Butsuma accepted Yanbai’s explanation about the food while making clear that he still doubted him, then arranged a separate kitchen for him.
Yanbai’s deception helped Madara Uchiha return to the Uchiha compound with his Sharingan awakened, while Uchiha Tajima questioned him about the silver-haired girl he had been meeting. Madara concealed Yanbai’s identity and left the interrogation facing his father’s advice to kill or bring the girl into the clan.
Yanbai explained to Butsuma Senju that paymasters were driving shinobi clans into deadly conflicts through competing missions. Butsuma agreed that Yanbai’s analysis made sense but questioned what the Senju Clan could do to change the cycle.
Yanbai reviewed intelligence on the Hagoromo, Uchiha, and Uzumaki clans while reflecting on how the Warring States Period forced clans to fight and sent children on missions. He searched the Uzumaki records for Mito Uzumaki but found no women listed, leaving Butsuma Senju baffled by his remark.
Butsuma Senju explained why Yanbai’s sex and healing ability made him crucial to the Senju Clan’s survival, then urged him to learn about other clans and protect himself. When Butsuma asked who Yanbai and Hashirama had met at the Naka River, Yanbai concealed that they had met Madara Uchiha.
Uchiha Tajima and Hagoromo Nobuyuki discussed joining forces against the Senju Clan, while Madara Uchiha missed Yanbai and their time together. Cherry Ink visited Yanbai with news of Madara’s loneliness, and Yanbai sent him biscuits and promised presents for Madara.
Madara Uchiha realized Yanbai had turned even cooking into rigorous chakra training and resolved to grow stronger. Meanwhile, Senju Longshu faced an Uchiha ambush in the Pine Forest and braced to fight Uchiha Tajima’s advancing force.
Senju Longshu escaped Uchiha Tajima after a fierce fight, while Yanbai’s scheme framed the Hagoromo Clan for the murder of Saionji Kaede. Butsuma Senju told Yanbai that rumors had ruined the Hagoromo Clan’s reputation.
Yanbai helped Butsuma Senju frame the Hagoromo Clan for Saionji Kaede’s murder, disrupting the Senju Clan’s enemies and hoping to protect Itama Senju and Senju Kawarama. At the Naka River, Yanbai confronted Uchiha Izuna, who had been searching for her, and seized him by the throat.
Yanbai accidentally trapped Uchiha Izuna's Great Fireball in his mouth, then repeatedly healed him while putting out the flames, causing Izuna unbearable pain. Izuna awakened his two-tomoe Sharingan during the ordeal, and Yanbai knocked him unconscious before worrying about how to keep him from telling Madara Uchiha what happened.
