Tartaglia watched the changes in his body, still struggling to process what had happened, and stared blankly at Qiu Yue.
"Miss Qiu Yue, what was that white light in your hand?"
Tartaglia looked at the breathtakingly beautiful woman before him in confusion.
He felt as though something within him had increased. It felt pleasant, so it certainly couldn't be a bad thing.
"That white light can extend your life."
"But your body is strange. Something is draining your lifespan."
Qiu Yue smiled and spoke without reservation. She was a little puzzled herself.
Something seemed to be siphoning away the lifespan of the man before her.
"What?"
Tartaglia scratched his head in confusion, not quite understanding what Qiu Yue meant.
"Just think of it as my sister's..."
"Thank-you gift."
Qiu Bai held his forehead, at a loss for words as he watched Tartaglia's bewildered expression.
He hadn't expected his sister's way of thanking people to be quite so unusual.
Looks like I'll have to talk to her about this later.
Otherwise, the average lifespan across Teyvat will start going up.
Qiu Bai rubbed his chin, murmuring inwardly.
"Uh..."
"I'm not sure what happened, but thank you very much anyway, Miss Qiu Yue."
Before coming to Liyue, he had heard of people like mystic practitioners.
Although he didn't know what had just happened, he could still feel the changes within his body.
Perhaps this Miss Qiu Yue was some sort of mystic practitioner.
"Childe, we're heading back to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor."
Standing a short distance away, Qiu Bai looked at Childe as he spoke.
"All right. I still have some unfinished business myself."
"I'll have to head back after eating."
Childe glanced at Qiu Bai and Qiu Yue as he spoke.
After all, intelligence from his Fatui subordinates indicated that the conflict between the Liyue Qixing and the Adepti was on the verge of erupting.
And the Traveler, his guide, was close to finding that place.
With that, Tartaglia walked off into the distance.
Qiu Yue followed Qiu Bai toward the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.
"There's something I need to tell you, little sister."
As he walked, Qiu Bai spoke gently to Qiu Yue beside him.
"Sure, big brother."
"What is it?"
Qiu Yue looked at her brother with her beautiful eyes and asked curiously.
"Qiu Yue, there aren't many gods like us left in this world."
"Under normal circumstances, it's best not to use your divine power."
Seeing his sister's curious expression, Qiu Bai offered her a reminder.
He was right. During the Archon War, Teyvat's Demon Gods had slaughtered one another, wearing down their own ranks.
Few Demon Gods remained in the mortal world now. Those who did were either lingering souls, had exhausted their power, or had only recently been born.
"Okay, big brother. Got it!"
Qiu Yue listened to Qiu Bai's reminder and replied playfully.
The siblings reached the entrance of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, and Qiu Bai pushed open the door and went inside.
The Mortuary Assistant was standing by the entrance.
"Mr. Qiu Bai, and this lady..."
The Mortuary Assistant looked at the breathtakingly beautiful woman beside Qiu Bai, a little puzzled.
"She's my younger sister. Her name is Qiu Yue."
Qiu Bai explained.
"So she's your sister, Mr. Qiu Bai."
"How rude of me. I didn't expect your sister to be so beautiful. She certainly takes after you in that respect, Mr. Qiu Bai."
The Mortuary Assistant smiled and nodded as she looked at Qiu Yue.
After all, Mr. Qiu Bai was so good-looking that his sister was bound to be beautiful too.
Then the Mortuary Assistant looked toward the upper floor and called, "Director, Consultant Qiu Bai is back!"
Not long after the Mortuary Assistant called out, a figure came downstairs. It was none other than Hu Tao.
"Qiu Bai, why are you the only one back?"
"Where's Zhongli? How's the Rite of Parting coming along?"
Hu Tao rubbed her eyes, looking as though she had just woken up.
"Wait, who's this gorgeous lady beside you?"
Hu Tao ran over in surprise, staring at Qiu Yue with her lovely plum-blossom eyes.
"Director, this is my younger sister."
"Her name is Qiu Yue, and she doesn't have a place to stay at the moment either."
Qiu Bai paused and looked at Qiu Yue beside him.
"But like me, she knows a little about the ways of yin and yang."
"She can help you quite a bit when I'm not around."
Qiu Bai explained to Hu Tao.
After all, his sister was an Yin-and-Yang Archon just like him, so she could certainly be of considerable help to Hu Tao.
"Like you, she knows a little about the ways of yin and yang?"
Hu Tao's mouth twitched. She knew just how formidable Qiu Bai's definition of "a little" was.
So his sister was bound to be an incredible helper-and a stunning beauty to boot.
"Ahem, so that's how it is..."
"I never imagined you had such a beautiful sister, Qiu Bai."
Hu Tao studied Qiu Yue with her plum-blossom eyes, then broke into a grin.
Then she held out her hand.
"Hello, I'm Hu Tao. Nice to meet you, Qiu Bai's little sister."
Hu Tao held out her left hand to the beautiful woman before her.
"Hello, Hu Tao. My name is Qiu Yue."
Qiu Yue smiled and reached out to shake Hu Tao's hand.
"All right, then. You're hardly ever around anyway."
"Another helper is always welcome."
"So I'll take your sister on!"
Hu Tao smiled at the beautiful woman before her, growing more pleased the longer she looked.
Although she hadn't seen Qiu Yue demonstrate her abilities yet, she was sure they would be impressive.
Qiu Bai smiled inwardly. With his sister working in his place, he would be free to slack off.
"As for why Zhongli hasn't come back..."
"Hmm... let me see."
Qiu Bai half closed his eyes and used his divine power to sense Zhongli's and the Traveler's locations.
"They're almost done preparing for the Rite of Parting."
"Right now, they're... northeast of Mt. Tianheng."
Qiu Bai slowly opened his eyes and spoke to Hu Tao.
He also overheard something amusing.
"Mr. Zhongli, hurry and use that endless knowledge of high society to think of something!"
"Uh... why do you make me sound like... some idle rich boy who can do nothing but listen to opera and take his pet birds out for walks?"
Paimon's and Zhongli's voices echoed in his mind, making Qiu Bai chuckle.
Looks like they've reached the Guizhong Ballista.
Qiu Bai suppressed his amusement and rubbed his chin as he thought.
"Qiu Bai, you're just like Zhongli. It's as if you can see and hear things from miles away."
"Northeast of Mt. Tianheng? Do you know how far away that is?"
Hu Tao looked at Qiu Bai and muttered, rather speechless.
After all, the game wasn't reality. Liyue Harbor was enormous.
And although Mt. Tianheng stood beside Liyue Harbor, it was still a long way from here.
Besides, Hu Tao had recently noticed Millelith soldiers constantly patrolling around the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, which seemed rather odd.
The number of Fatui in the city seemed to be increasing.
A strange atmosphere hung over Liyue Harbor, like a bomb whose fuse had yet to be lit.
So she was still a little worried about Zhongli's current situation.
"Director, Zhongli really is northeast of Mt. Tianheng."
"I saw him and the Traveler in that area on my way back."
Seeing Hu Tao's odd expression, Qiu Bai assumed she didn't believe him, so he made up an explanation.
