Wind and snow howled across the snowfields outside the city, and everything in sight was a sea of white.
The Silvermane Guards ordered to patrol the vicinity had split into squads, each moving slowly through its assigned area.
As one squad left, a hazy figure appeared amid the wind and snow.
The figure grew clearer. He held a cane and looked rather like a knowledgeable, cultured gentleman.
Old Yang raised a hand to adjust his glasses. He had finally reached Jarilo. He wondered how the children were doing, and where the robot named Svarog that Little Fish had messaged him about might be.
A little relief and anticipation mingled with his somewhat serious expression. Old Yang quickly gathered his thoughts, surveyed his surroundings, and began considering what to do next.
Little Fish had also sent word that a well-connected local would come to meet him. His name was Sampo...
Old Yang had seen Sampo's photograph. He looked somewhat frivolous, and the look in his eyes suggested someone skilled at scheming and deception.
Still, Old Yang did not judge people by their appearance. Until they actually met, his first impression from a photograph was only a point of reference.
Strictly speaking, though, he would rather Little Fish and March 7th did not associate with someone like that. Stelle and Dan Heng, on the other hand, should be able to look after themselves.
After that brief train of thought, Old Yang raised his head and looked to the side.
At some point, Sampo had already arrived beside him.
This man was indeed no ordinary person. Not only had he approached without making a sound, he had not even left a trace in the snow.
While Old Yang studied Sampo, Uncle Cold Legs was also studying the man Little Colleague called "Uncle Yang."
