Background / History

Earlier Life

March was once trapped in a rare substance called Six-Phased Ice. Jarilo-VI’s frozen landscape makes her wonder whether the planet could be connected to her past, although she doubts that an ordinary planet would contain that substance. She also admits that she hopes the freezing world is not her home 35.

Before Stelle and Jiang Yu joined the Express, Himeko would have Dan Heng and Welt accompany March whenever she wanted to explore somewhere 35.

Herta Space Station

March appears during the Antimatter Legion’s invasion, interrupting Dan Heng’s attempt to give Stelle mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. After meeting Jiang Yu, she escorts Stelle toward the Master Control Zone while Jiang Yu and Dan Heng search for Arlan 2.

The pair defeat Voidrangers but encounter a locked elevator. March initially blames the Legion, only to discover that she has misplaced the access card Asta gave her. Once she finds it, she hands it to Dan Heng for safekeeping 4 5.

After the group reunites, March freezes two Tramplers so Jiang Yu and Stelle can attack them. She celebrates their coordination with a high five, then leads the survivors back to Himeko in the Master Control Zone 6.

During the evacuation, March objects to leaving without Jiang Yu. At the Platform, the Doomsday Beast ambushes her; Jiang Yu blocks its strike long enough for her to escape. She subsequently shields Dan Heng and freezes one of the beast’s hands to support the counterattack 10 11.

March catches Jiang Yu after his attack on the beast and again after he suppresses Stelle’s rampaging Stellaron. She remains concerned while he appears unconscious, then celebrates his awakening by taking a photograph with him and exchanging contact details 12 13 14.

Aboard the Astral Express

March pulls Jiang Yu aboard after Himeko welcomes him as a traveling companion. She later volunteers to show him and Stelle around the Express and help them choose rooms 28 30.

Before the warp to Jarilo-VI, she ignores Pom-Pom’s advice to sit down and instead challenges herself to remain standing in the main hall 30.

Jarilo-VI and Belobog

Himeko assigns March and Dan Heng to accompany Stelle and Jiang Yu on the expedition to find Jarilo-VI’s Stellaron. March is delighted to reunite their four-person team and confidently presents herself and Dan Heng as seasoned trailblazers 34 35.

On the snowfields, she provides ranged support against Fragmentum creatures and retrieves a Travel Guide from a Bud of Erudition. She initially objects when Jiang Yu picks up a Blazing Glory Creation, but approaches its warmth after Dan Heng confirms that his restraint makes it safe 38 39.

March supports Jiang Yu’s proposal to turn Fragmentum creatures into useful products, particularly recognizing advertising’s importance. During the subsequent confrontation with the Silvermane Guards, she freezes the archers’ weapons rather than shooting the soldiers themselves 43 45.

At Stelle’s suggestion, March shows Gepard a photograph of Jarilo-VI taken from space. The image helps establish that the group are visitors from beyond the planet, prompting Gepard to escort them to Belobog 46.

During the audience with Cocolia, March explains the connection between Stellarons, the Antimatter Legion, and Fragmentum corrosion. She proposes that the Eternal Freeze is another Stellaron-induced disaster and initially accepts Cocolia’s apparent willingness to cooperate 50.

Appearance

March is repeatedly described as a lively, pretty girl. Her expedition outfit offers little insulation despite Jarilo-VI’s extreme cold 5 35.

  • Clothing: A shirt, a relatively thin jacket, and a skirt that leaves her legs bare 35.
  • Refusal to change: She declines warmer clothing, insisting that “a pretty girl has her pride” 35.

Personality

March is exuberant, imaginative, and eager to make friends. She immediately introduces herself to Jiang Yu, celebrates successful teamwork with a high five, and enthusiastically welcomes the newcomers into life aboard the Express 2 6 28 30.

Her confidence often becomes playful boasting: she praises Jiang Yu as “almost as good as me” and insists that their team can handle whatever Jarilo-VI throws at them. She is also scatterbrained, temporarily losing the elevator access card and becoming defensive when the others tease her about it 2 5 7 37.

Her teasing coexists with genuine concern. She worries about leaving Jiang Yu behind, watches anxiously over his recovery, and asks whether Aha’s interest might endanger him. Her attempted kindness can still misfire—she tries to warm Jiang Yu’s face with hands that are already freezing 10 14 15 37.

Abilities & Skills

Six-Phased Ice

March forms weapons, shields, and freezing projectiles from Six-Phased Ice, the rare substance associated with her earlier imprisonment 2 11 35.

  • Ice archery: Creates a bow and arrows; kills two Voidranger Eliminators with two headshots after Jiang Yu knocks them back 2 5.
  • Area freezing: Fires an arrow that bursts into numerous Pom-Pom-shaped ice constructs, freezing two Tramplers in place for her teammates 6.
  • Protective shields: Condenses ice around Dan Heng, preventing a Doomsday Beast shock wave from affecting him 11.
  • Target immobilization: Freezes the Doomsday Beast’s right hand, allowing Stelle to attack it repeatedly 11.
  • Nonlethal disarmament: Freezes the Silvermane Archers’ weapons and stops their next volley 45.
  • Limits: Complains that fighting a swarm is cumbersome with arrows; the Doomsday Beast’s final antimatter jet arrives too quickly for her to shield Jiang Yu 6 12.

Photography

March regularly records her travels and shares photographs with her companions 14 35.

  • Takes a celebratory photograph with Jiang Yu after he awakens 14.
  • Photographs Jarilo-VI from the Express’s observation car and uses the image to demonstrate the squad’s extraterrestrial origin 46.
  • Keeps an elaborate photo wall and cameras of various models in her room 30.

Equipment / Items

  • Phone — Used for photographs, exchanging contact details, and showing Gepard the orbital image of Jarilo-VI 14 46.
  • Cameras — Keeps multiple models in her Express cabin 30.
  • Travel Guide — Found inside a Bud of Erudition after the squad defeats the surrounding Fragmentum monsters 38.
  • Cabin belongings — Her pale-pink room contains potted plants, a full-length mirror, a photo wall, plush toys including a Pom-Pom doll, a packed wardrobe, a large pink bed, snacks, and a computer 30.

Relationships

  • Jiang Yu — Friend and teammate. Their relationship combines teasing and physical playfulness with mutual concern; he saves her from the Doomsday Beast, and she catches him and watches over his recovery 5 6 11 13 14 34.
  • Stelle — Fellow trailblazer whom March initially escorts through the station. They fight together, and Stelle later suggests using March’s photograph to persuade Gepard 2 4 46.
  • Dan Heng — Trusted teammate and source of guidance. March relies on his knowledge while teasing his reserved manner and apparent favoritism toward Jiang Yu 15 16 35 37.
  • Himeko — The Express’s navigator, who oversees March’s expeditions. March openly complains to her about difficult battles and asks her to arrive earlier next time 6 7 35.
  • Welt — Senior companion whom she calls “Uncle Yang.” His assurance that Jiang Yu is safe helps calm her after the Stellaron incident 13 14.
  • Gepard — Initially an opposing guard captain, then the squad’s escort to Belobog. March shows him his planet from space and listens to his account of its history 46 48.

Trivia

  • Siberian Duck’s informal “Astral Express family” comparison casts March as the lively, energetic second child. This is a livestream analogy, not a literal family relationship 36.
  • When March complains that the expedition has no snowmobile, Dan Heng asks what happened to the last one she drove. She immediately tries to change the subject; its precise fate is not stated 37.
