Half a day later.
Moonlight spilled over the earth like water.
"Now this is what I call living..."
Lin Fan let out a comfortable breath, feeling refreshed in body and spirit. An indescribable delight filled his heart, leaving him floating on air.
In contrast, two blushes rose on Yue Chan's lovely face, mingled with resentment, and she involuntarily rubbed her slightly swollen chin.
After a long while, she finally stood, pulled up the clothes she had unfastened and shed, and, looking every bit a bashful young woman, pinched Lin Fan's waist with her delicate hand.
"Get up. We should leave!"
"Of course, wifey." Thoroughly satisfied, Lin Fan no longer hesitated. He sprang up, wrapped an arm around her slender waist, and flew upward.
Although Yue Chan felt that hand misbehaving, she did not stop him. She merely cast him a sidelong glance, telling him to behave.
Lin Fan thought nothing of it. Their relationship had progressed further; apart from the final step, they had done everything they could. Only a thin sheet of window paper remained between them.
"Yueyue, how about we get married once we're back?" he asked with a smile.
Yue Chan shook her head. "It's too soon. We're in the golden years of our cultivation. We shouldn't let other things distract us."
"Listen to yourself. Marriage would just make our relationship official. It's not like I'd cling to you and delay your cultivation," Lin Fan countered in all seriousness.
"The mortal world has an end. Across ten thousand rivers and a thousand mountains, everything in this world will one day fade into illusion. We should pursue an eternal future, not cling to a moment's pleasure..." Yue Chan straightened his collar, her eyes gentle.
"You haven't been possessed by the Azure Moon Female Immortal's lingering obsession, have you?"
