After the Strange World opened more than a hundred thousand years ago and the Life Forbidden Zones emptied, this Restricted Zone became a secluded cultivation ground reserved exclusively for the Heng Emperor.
When the Lunar Essence Human Emperor and Tai Chu arrived in this ancient Restricted Zone, they discovered that it, too, had been affected to some extent by the withering age outside. Many old medicinal plants had died, becoming soil that nourished this vast, empty land.
Fortunately, only spiritual plants and precious medicinal herbs had existed here for a long time, with no cultivators present. The Southern Heavenly Gate stood lofty and imposing, and overall, the place differed little from how it had been in the Primordial Era.
Yet when the two emperors reached the deepest part of the Divine Ruins Restricted Zone, they discovered that Yuangeng did not seem to be in very good condition.
They had not seen him for twenty thousand years, and Yuangeng could no longer maintain his original youthful appearance. Although his face still looked much like a young man's, his hair and eyebrows had become dry and gray, clearly indicating a loss of vital essence, energy, and spirit.
At that moment, he sat cross-legged beside a great lake formed from a Divine Spring in the Divine Ruins. His figure was tall and lean, his blood vitality weak, and even his imposing presence seemed considerably diminished.
