"Hey, climb aboard! We'll take you with us."
The pirate ship slowly drew alongside the Life Raft, and a coarse rope was tossed over the side. Lorne looked up. The deck was packed with ill-intentioned faces, their greasy skin gleaming in the sunlight.
It's written all over their faces. Don't these pirates even bother hiding it...? Lorne grumbled inwardly, glancing at Tracy beside him.
He raised his head and activated Spirit Vision, giving the ship a quick scan. The spirituality responses were weak, and his spiritual intuition gave him little warning.
And this ship is so small... Lorne studied the pirate vessel before him.
Compared with the Golden Dream, this ship was practically a toy.
A small pirate crew like this would have one or two Sequence 9 Beyonders at most... Lorne calculated inwardly. If we both go aboard, it shouldn't be a problem...
Having thought it through, he turned to Tracy. "I'll go first, then you..."
Before Lorne could finish, Tracy interrupted him. "Ladies first."
She had already grabbed the rope and was preparing to climb.
"Hey!" Lorne stopped her. "You're clearly their target, and you're still injured. Let me..."
"Hey, aren't you underestimating me a little too much?" Tracy shook off Lorne's hand. Her voice was cold, but for some reason, her ears had turned red.
So much for trying to help... Lorne shook his head helplessly and had no choice but to follow her.
Not long after he started climbing, Lorne discovered an awkward problem. Their positions were far too suggestive, and he couldn't look up at all. Tracy was above him, and she wasn't wearing safety shorts. If Lorne raised his head, he would inevitably see certain things...
"Tsk. Awkward."
By the time they climbed onto the deck, the pirates had formed a semicircle around them.
