Edwina didn't speak immediately. She knew exactly what Danitz wanted to ask, and even anticipated it. After all, Anderson's seduction work was mostly done on the "Golden Dream," so she couldn't have been completely unaware.

Besides, she already knew what the "Pure White" lady was up to. The fact that the other party didn't use force but instead chose such subtle inducement already surprised her. Moreover, this inducement didn't involve any supernatural abilities.

Edwina couldn't just barge in and forcibly dismantle the stage that had already been set up. If Danitz had brought it up openly, she might have been able to say something, but given the current situation, she could only answer whatever Danitz asked, "It depends on the circumstances."

"The Psychological Community has long held the view that people's psychological and physiological orientations should be separated, with the former being called Romantic Orientation and the latter being called Sexual Orientation."

I don't know much about this; I only know that the two can be different or the same.

"If the woman you're talking about is both psychologically and physiologically a lesbian, then it's impossible; but if she doesn't psychologically care about the other person's past gender, then it doesn't matter."

This answer didn't completely resolve Danitz's question, but it gave Danitz a direction, even hope. He looked at Edwina and tentatively asked, "In your opinion, is the latter more likely to happen?"

"I don't know," Edwina said. "I haven't actually encountered the situation you described, and I don't think there are any statistics on this in the Psychological Community."

What she said is absolutely true; gender transition involves extraordinary matters, and it's impossible for publicly available psychological materials to contain information about it.

Even if it's not publicly known, it's unlikely that anyone will study such an extreme case in the short term.

Once the corresponding system matures, some people might research these topics simply to fill paper submissions.

But Danitz didn't care about any of that. He gradually realized from Edwina's ambiguity that Edwina probably already knew why he asked the question, so he insisted, "I wanted to ask for your opinion."

This put Edwina in a difficult position. She couldn't say she cared, nor could she say she didn't, because she didn't want to guide Danitz into making a choice that would lead to Danitz's regret, but she also dared not deny it.

After thinking for a few seconds, Edwina asked, "Why are you suddenly so concerned about this?"

Her words made Danitz, who had just begun to suspect something, doubt himself again. He started to wonder if he was overthinking things. Perhaps the Captain really didn't know why he had asked the question. So Danitz stammered, "Uh, I, I just—I just suddenly thought of it—"

Edwina didn't speak; she simply stared at Danitz. After a few seconds, Danitz withdrew from her gaze, lowered his head, and said, "I'll go write back to Gehrman now, Captain."

Edwina nodded slightly and watched him leave the room.

"Mysticism, Witchcraft, and Magic— " Klein frowned and put away his reply.

Edwina's answer went straight to the heart of the matter: he didn't have the ability to learn these things, though he could take Record, but that would be inconvenient and would require renting "Leymano's Travel Notes."

However, this answer also indirectly confirmed some things. Klein thoughtfully reached out, groped in the air for a moment, and then grabbed a phantom Edwina.

If Edwina has such a method, then her Historical Projection should have one too!

Unlike the Marionette, Klein cannot clearly know what the Historical Projection can or cannot do; instead, he needs to rely on his own understanding of things or people.

In contrast, the advantage of Historical Projection over Marionette is that, although a Historical Projection Historical Projection cannot communicate or react when not controlled by the person in question, it does possess a certain degree of "Wisdom." For example, the person in question can command Historical Projection to fight, and the Historical Projection will fight on its own without requiring precise control over every reaction.

Of course, that can't compare to being controlled by a living person. If he has enough understanding, it's best to control it himself.

Therefore, Klein picked up the Lantern he had just put down, which was also offered up by Danitz. On a ship that often went to sea, there would certainly be no shortage of Lantern that could protect against wind and rain.

He raised the Lantern and had Edwina's Historical Projection try it out. He then discovered that it was no different from him running wildly, because the overall effect of this Mysticism was simply to make people run faster.

This wasn't the method Klein needed, so he abandoned it, thinking it would be more reliable to pull a vehicle out of the Historical Projection.

"If only there were something that could instantly transport me to my destination—" Klein sighed, looking distressed. "I can't even tell which way is which in this place—"

The latter complaint didn't come out of nowhere. He had pulled out a compass from the Historical Projection and discovered that the magnetic field of this land was also chaotic, making the compass completely useless here. In the current situation, Klein didn't actually want to encounter Kotar, otherwise he wouldn't even know where to run.

"Sigh----" Klein sighed heavily and stuffed a Mushroom into his mouth.

Davy, the "Evernight Priest" from Moon City, entered High Priest Nim 'Nim room and asked, "High Priest, have you received any new divine pronouncements?"

Nim shook his head.

"Half of the promised time has passed," Davy sat down, gazing at Nim. "Do you believe the miracle He promised us will truly come as expected?"

"I'm willing to have hope," Nim said. "At least He really did save us, gave us the possibility of continuing, and He has begun to answer our prayers."

After becoming Angel and able to Automatic Response prayers, Neph delivered a "divine oracle" to Nim, which Nim naturally announced to the people of Moon City, thus bringing about a new wave of celebration.

Davy couldn't refute this. He had witnessed the changes in Moon City firsthand and knew very well how rare these changes were. Some of the help even came from his own body. Demigod like him and Nim, with the help of "A Bucket of White Paint," no longer needed to endure the torment of delirium day and night, or face the possibility of mutation at any time.

The Purification of the pollution made even his soul feel Feather Fall. If all this had come sooner, Davy suspected he might have even been able to advance further. But even now, Davy was full of hope because it was foreseeable that the number of Beyonder the younger generation would increase, the number of Demigod might also increase, and more importantly, the number of Newborn, especially normal Newborn, would increase year by year.

This was the best news imaginable, especially after obtaining the Mushroom that could be eaten normally. The atmosphere in Moon City had shifted from steadfastness to a joyful anticipation. They sincerely hoped that the "God of Winter" could bring them even more changes.

But as a high-ranking official, Davy considered more issues than others. He always remembered the promise of a miracle. Now, more than a year had passed since that promise was made. Davy said to Nim, "Don't forget, our goal is still to leave this Curse land."

Even though our lives are full of hope now, on this Curse land, Catastrophe may strike one day, destroying our City-State and causing our civilization to be lost.

"High Priest, we cannot be content with the status quo."

"I know what you're trying to say," Nim said reassuringly. "Our work exploring that fog has long since resumed, and our outward expansion has never stopped. There have indeed been some voices lately suggesting that we can proceed cautiously and wait for a miracle, but you know, I have never supported that idea. I have never forgotten what we are standing firm for."

These words silenced Davy. After a few seconds of silence, he tentatively asked, "Have you ever thought about this?"

"What?" Nim looked at him calmly.

Davy let out a soft breath and whispered, "That girl—the girl who walked here back then."

"Although she claims to be Subordinate Deity, God's Angel, she clearly has the same needs as an ordinary person for eating and excretion, and her position in the extraordinary world is indeed not much higher than that of an ordinary person."

"Her identity—have you ever considered that her identity might be fabricated?"

Nim shook his head slightly, reminding Davy: "The thing He always carried, which He called the Wordless Heavenly Book'— "

"You and I both know, and we've verified it using different methods, that thing is indeed very special, isn't it?"

"I'm not doubting her special abilities!" Davy shook his head. "I'm doubting— High Priest, have you considered that if the Angel is fake, then is the Lord she speaks of truly the Lord we've been waiting for all this time?"

Nim stopped what he was doing and looked at Davy, seemingly waiting for him to continue. Davy took a deep breath and, as if he had prepared himself mentally, began, "I've wanted to bring this up with you for a long time."

"Just as you said, this is a Curse land, a forsaken land. Since the Lord has abandoned us for more than three thousand years, why has He suddenly returned? And even sent such a person—a naive follower."

"If she is not the only follower of the Lord, then she should not have come; if she is the only follower of the Lord, then she should certainly not have come— High Priest, do you really believe that she is the only one who can read the Lord's oracle from that Canvas?"

"I've been thinking— the High Priest, I've been thinking—that the Lord she believed in, and the Lord we believe in, truly is the same Lord."

"Is that right?"

"Davy," Nim shook his head, "You're too paranoid."

High Priest Davy wanted to say more.

"Davy," Nim interrupted him, his expression turning serious, "He saved us, and that's enough."

"But—" Davy gritted his teeth, "it's not impossible. Perhaps she's a follower of some Evil God, saving us only to sacrifice us—"

"What's wrong with that?" Nim retorted. "Do you think we would have survived if He hadn't sacrificed us?"

Davy was stunned. He seemed to want to refute this statement, but didn't know what to say. Nim sighed and continued, "I have suspected that the miracle He spoke of was a Scam. Perhaps when we actually see that miracle and are filled with joy as we prepare to welcome the light, everything will be exposed, and He will tell us that it was all His prank."

"Moreover, there happens to be such a being in the Record; that is the Angel of Time who left us that clock, the former ' God of Mischief '."

"But Davy, if He didn't appear, could we possibly wait for another possibility?"

Davy fell silent, remaining silent for a long time. It was High Priest Nim who spoke first, "Perhaps you've been too tired lately. Go back and get some rest."

"No," Davy stood up, "I understand what you mean—but perhaps you really should take the time to do something to tell others not to be complacent."

"I know," Nim nodded, "I've been thinking about this."

"This seems to be the place Trissy was staying—" Neph paced through the Sewer, her eyes gleaming. "Hmm, this should be where Hazel played, but it's been blocked off—"

She pondered for a moment, then took Ais out of her bosom, knelt down, and placed Ais on the ground.

"Squeak squeak squeak?" Ais looked at her in confusion.

"Rat are actually just right for the Sewer— " Neph stroked her chin, "But a white Rat looks a bit too conspicuous—no, never mind, a color-changing mouse would be too ugly, let's leave it like this."

She shook her head, touched Ais's forehead, looked down at Ais, and her expression became serious. "Ais, I'm going to send you on a great mission."

"The Evil and cunning god Amon is hiding here. I know you have the ability to sense him. Go, find him, defeat him, and take his place!"

"Squeak squeak squeak?!" A human-like look of terror appeared on Ais's Rat face.

"Go for it!" Neph patted Ais on the shoulder with one finger. "I believe in you, warrior of the Jacob Family!"

"Squeak squeak squeak!" Ais shrieked, stretching out her short claws and pointing behind her.

"Why did you point me out?" The voice behind me sighed melancholically. "I wanted to hear you continue your conversation—"

And Little White, do you usually mistreat your Pet like this? I think it's about to cry—"

"----Who are you calling Little White?" Neph turned around.

"You," the Angel of Time said casually, adjusting his Monocle from behind.

"That's great," Neph sighed, "Why don't you call your father Little Black?"

"—Good idea," He chuckled, seemingly in utter amazement, "But let's talk about your plan to dig up my grave first."
