Painting
Under Neph's rambling, Klein finally gave up asking about the real reward she had promised and instead asked the question that had piqued his curiosity:
"That building gives the impression that its colors have been absorbed by something... Are those absorbed colors hidden somewhere? Like your eyes."
Neph instinctively raised her hand to touch her eyes. The "colors" displayed by these color-changing eyes were actually symbols of memories, but the pure white clothes she wore were not.
--That thing was initially chosen to contrast with Amon's all-black attire, and also to match the name "Pure White." As for later... Both are Angel, Reinette Tinekerr next door seems to have never changed her clothes in a thousand years. How long has she been wearing them?
But this seemed to have caused Klein some kind of misunderstanding. Neph thought about it for a moment, then, without explaining, smiled thoughtfully:
"You're absolutely right... the ' Chaos Sea ' truly is an ocean that encompasses all colors..."
This wasn't the first time Klein had heard the name "Chaos Sea." He didn't actually know what the "Chaos Sea"Chaos Sea was, but the scene and tone in which Neph mentioned it suggested that the relationship between the "Ancient Sun God" and the "Chaos Sea" was similar to his relationship with the "Sefirah Castle," and that the two should be on the same level.
Therefore, Klein simply nodded thoughtfully and invited, "Do you want to go through it again? I think you might as well come in with me..."
Neph finally agreed, and they entered the gray-white building complex. Klein observed the black marks on the ground and walls, and the gray-white buildings, and asked:
"What are we researching here? Nuclear leaks? No, wait, you seemed to have mentioned..."
"This must have been a research institute built before the nuclear leak," Neph shook her head, "Otherwise, His research notes should have shown this... and this place is for studying the abnormal generation of oil."
"Hmm?" Klein's eyelids twitched. "I remember being puzzled when I first 'transmigrated,' wondering why there was no oil here..."
"Because of the ' Chaos Sea '," Neph replied, "It's located inside this planet, growing and spreading within it... I remember the story being that it swallowed oil? But that doesn't quite add up, because the pollution from the Chaos Sea ' manifests as dried-up oil fields abnormally producing oil... From this perspective, the fact that there's no oil in this era means the world is still quite safe."
Klein asked, as if suddenly realizing something:
"So the underground pollution was caused by the ' Chaos Sea '? What about the Cosmos? What does that enigmatic Cosmos hold?"
Neph frowned slightly as she looked at Klein. Klein paused, then immediately realized, "Is this something I shouldn't have asked?"
"More or less," Neph nodded, "But I can give you a subtle hint..."
"What?" Klein's heart skipped a beat.
"The Cosmos above us..." Neph's voice was low, her gaze drifting into the distance, "It's alive. In the still of the night, you might really see the Star wink at you."
"...?" Klein swallowed hard, his expression filled with fear.
That statement was intimidating enough that Klein didn't dare ask a single question for the rest of the time, until he picked up the so-called research manual, and then they both stared blankly at the Russian text on the paper.
"Do you know him?" Klein asked earnestly.
"I know what it says," Neph smiled, "But that doesn't stop me from not recognizing a single letter—oh, I can learn them on the spot."
She raised her hand and made an Inverted Cross in front of her chest.
Klein rejected the proposal, pulled a translator from the Historical Projection, and sighed as he activated it:
"I bought this when I was planning to Travel abroad..."
"You've practically gone abroad now," Neph said quietly, "The kind of person who can't come back."
"...?" Klein stopped what he was doing and couldn't help but glance at her. "Is it fun to stab me in the back?"
"At least I didn't stab you in the back, right?" Neph said with a grin.
Klein glared at her, then turned his attention back to the translator. The contents of the paper were more like a diary than research notes, but not in the style of Roselle's Diary; it was quite normal. After browsing through it, Klein shook his head and said:
>p/<. This style is very suitable for us now, haha... It feels like this style is suitable for starting a diary or making a small diary.
>p/<: Dao Wen frowned, looking at Fu Nai with slight doubt, and continued walking forward on the road ahead of Enlake.
>p/<"? Like that? The sound of it coming from inside the brain is like a call... can you hear it?"
>p/<. In the middle of the hand, she appeared on the white canvas, letting the ground be exposed for a long time. After thinking for a while, Funa
>p/<. "Fortress Source" has always been like a Buddha, its mist and white ash dissipating as it appears and disappears, sometimes visible, sometimes hidden; the secret of the silver-colored god is the origin of the Slurowu; the black blood stain is the origin of the "True Creation of the Main Being"; there are only a few traces on its surface, its form still Pure White like a canvas.
>p/<". I drew a line on the surface with my pen", Enlake turned his head to look, the mist and smoke dissipated on the right path, passing by Funa"...2 columns, you wait"
>p/<. Way, ask the strange Enlake? What's the use of this?"
>p/<". I don't know me", I smiled slightly and asked, "Hello"
>p/<. She looked at him, speechless, and then choked on Enlake words, "?..."
>p/<. She had no idea what the relationship was, but she suspected the "Pure White scroll" of the painting had something to do with her. If she insisted, she would answer that she truly didn't know. Funa put down her hand.
>p/<"? What did you shout in the sound of your brain? You clearly hear it": The topic has been moved, she changed it once, this time because
>p/<. Enlake shook his head.
>p/<. Okay, then go down and kick Meng A, remember you, go forward," said Funa, "Nothing's wrong."
>p/<. At the "cliff break" point, she finally stopped, walking inward with a strange feeling, looking towards Enlake, emphasizing this event again.
They in front of him
It was a deep, dark abyss. Klein shone the light from his Lantern, then, still unconvinced, pulled out his flashlight, only to find himself in a void that swallowed all light.
Klein turned to look at Neph, only to find Neph clutching her head.
"What's wrong?" he asked anxiously.
"N-nothing... it's nothing," Neph replied, frowning.
In fact, two faint whispers from different sources were echoing in her mind:
"Come... child... my child..."
"The world... Forgetting me... the world... Forgetting me..."
The latter was most likely started by the former. If Neph were to analyze it, Neph thinks it's like some long-lost "Eternal Winter" cursing her father for irresponsibly running away after having a child—how can that not be considered a mistake?
Come to think of it, your mother and your other siblings have pretty much forgotten about you... No wonder your delirious ramblings are so mournful...
Neph held her head, trying to ignore the voice in her head, and replied with a frown:
"It's nothing... just a little annoying... I..."
Just then, a withered hand, reduced to skin and bone, emerged from the impenetrable darkness and grasped the edge of the "Cliff."
At this point, Neph ignored the sounds of their fight and shouted, "Kick Him off!"
Without her prompting, Klein's Historical Projection had already stepped forward on its own, but his movements were clearly not fast enough; the figure leaped out and landed on the ground.
The figure retained Amon's usual appearance, but was unusually emaciated, like a withered skeleton. Neph frowned as she examined the skin and bones, but Klein, without a word, raised his leg and kicked.
--He didn't succeed.
"The Angel of Time" was not someone who could be easily kicked down. Without even a sway, its flesh and blood rapidly replenished, and it looked at Klein with a smile, then at Neph, exclaiming in amazement:
"As expected of me, after so long apart, I've given you such a unique gift."
"But, I feel like I've never seen you guys before? Well, you're one thing, I might occasionally want to wear a different color, but you..."
He fixed his gaze on Klein's empty right eye, frowned slightly, and raised his hand to adjust his Monocle.
The movement remained frozen for several seconds after it was completed before ending, and Amon murmured as if deep in thought:
"Strange, why can't I sense you? Are people these days daring to impersonate me and swindle others? No, there's another possibility..."
He raised his hand again, adjusted his Monocle, and then looked puzzled.
"I can't sense anything... not a single one... has the connection been lost, or is the real entity trying to deceive me?"
His gaze fell on Neph, Neph quietly looked at Amon before her, frowning and remaining silent.
Another unseen, viscous black substance was clinging to Amon's body. It enveloped his Crystal Monocle, obscuring the normally transparent lens; it covered Amon skin, making his otherwise pale Amon appear as if coated with black mud.
"It wasn't entirely fake after all..." she whispered. "I thought you were just a doorman, but I never imagined you actually jumped in..."
The thick, black layer didn't completely seal Amon off; it wasn't impossible for him to contact his true form, though it would be troublesome, requiring more effort and going through several layers of detours. Otherwise, he would probably have to "wash" himself clean first.
Her whispered words revealed that she already knew the truth, and Amon, who was about to carry out his deception, seemed to abandon his original plan. Sadly and frustrated, he patted his head and said with a gloomy face:
"You noticed so easily? Wow, your memory really does cheat in this respect..."
"... Even without the corresponding Authority, I know you're lying," Neph shook her head. "If you truly had a clone completely severed from contact, you should have gone mad long ago—although I don't think a referendum is something a normal person would do."
After a brief pause, Neph added, "I didn't mean other things are normal."
"I understand!" Amon clapped his hands loudly, beaming. "You're calling me crazy!"
>p/<! Enlake kicked him, his foot flying as he spoke.
>p/<. The shadow that had just disappeared stopped there, and Enlake reacted extremely quickly, without waiting for her to do anything. Funa's pupils suddenly shrank.
>p/<". Already bathing in a bubble 'sea chaos' is not... is this how it becomes frightening: mouth opened like a laugh lost, a scene of this looking at Meng A
>p/<. Go back and stand guard, remaining silent as Funa"?...
>p/<--So, she was not completely vigilant, and her true identity was revealed before her eyes. She had come over and reacted again, taking two steps back.
"What did you see? Besides what you know about those things in the order of things, what else do you know?" Funai asked curiously. "What's in the 'chaotic sea'?"
>p/<"? Knowledgeable More": Dao thought for a moment and then Meng A
>p/<: Dao Yinyin smiled, pinched her single eyelid, then looked at it again, as if she wanted to say something. Her lips twitched slightly, and Funai said, "This is just a useless sentence."
>p/<... You told me to let you know, maybe you'll be able to guess what's going on here, right?"
>p/<". We are one of the two parts of the entrusted party's biological mother, but we are not the 'miracle teacher's' part.
>p/<... What is the difference between one's own mother and another? etc.
>p/<. A slight expression of emotion, a hint of doubt in her eyes, a thought that made Enlake think of her, a strange name that had crossed her mind.
>p/<... The child was born into the "secret of the master" on behalf of the "Above the Emperor". Who knows the truth? Is it not?
>p/<. The character ten is upside down, the painting is on the chest, and Funa raises her hand.
>p/<. I have already become a good mother to Him, in fact... this seems to be from my own father, I say, from the experience of the past," she comforted me, "Don't be so nervous."
Swallowing hard, Funa...
Saliva.
She left, bewildered by these words, while atop the "Sefirah Castle," Klein thoughtfully withdrew his gaze, tapping the weathered Bronze Long Table and muttering silently:
"Above the Sequence... this must be what she's been keeping from me... the Dao Fruit? She certainly knows how to talk... judging from the name and her previous descriptions, this should be a level above Sequence 0...' Sefirah Castle ' and such, it's probably similar to... uh, Uniqueness? Beyonder Characteristic? Hmm, Uniqueness is more fitting, but it's a higher level than Uniqueness..."
"The Cosmos... the twinkling the Star... and the Moon... these must also exist at this level? This level is dangerous; just knowing about it could lead to contamination... But the ' Sefirah Castle ' seems to be able to shield against this? Hmm, before leaving here, I need to seal my memories..."
"However, it's strange, since we both possess Sefirah, why is it that when I leave the ' Sefirah Castle,' I can no longer access this knowledge, while she can freely travel outside with it? Is it because of the special nature of Child of God? Or..."
He closed his eyes, and the story Neph had told him about his life before he transmigrated resurfaced.
>p/<"... Cloth painting white space", in a daze, a breath escaped slowly from Enlake's mouth, "... The book."
>p/<: The flow of the main body occupied the area, and a wild and absurd thought surged from his mind. He stared blankly at the palace in front of him.
>p/<!? Is the painting frame not something she's in, in this world...?
