A different reward

"...Good afternoon?" Fors the Magician replied reflexively.

"This is Miss Pure White," Klein interjected at just the right moment. "She requested leave from our last meeting."

As they spoke, Alger and Audrey had already turned some of their attention to Neph's hair. Derrick, however, paid it no mind-he found nothing unusual about potions changing someone's appearance.

Alger did not actually find it unusual either, but he tended to think more deeply about things. Recalling Neph's earlier remarks about authority, he had further thoughts about her hair turning gray. As for Audrey-this really was her first time seeing anything like it.

But Audrey did not ask. Suppressing her curiosity, she finished her greetings before saying:

"Honorable Mr. Fool, I have something I wish to report to you in private."
