The Taste of the Lord...
Modifying a ritual to make it her own was not difficult. For Neph, the real problem was that she did not know what herbs existed in this world, much less which ones corresponded to the domains she encompassed. So she decided to let Klein test this ritual.
That way, I won't have to worry about being exposed because of the herbs.
Hmm, no, other people will still need to use this ritual... I can ask Klein to put in a few herbs that look convincing. He probably won't mind helping with something so small. Yes, that's settled...
Neph wrote out a rough outline of the ritual procedure, then set it aside. Using the materials she had just brought back, she began setting up an altar and first performed a ritual requesting a bestowment from herself.
Hearing prayers was not a pleasant experience, especially when she could not make out the words. Neph felt that it sounded rather like the voices of the True Creator and Amon when they spoke. It seemed to be a trait shared by higher beings: unless they restrained it, their voices would become a succession of thunderous syllables exploding in her mind.
Upon entering the Pure White Space again, Neph saw the fabled bestowment passage.
After tossing down the food for her next two meals, Neph returned to the real world. As she concluded the ritual, she thought that she really ought to leave the Forsaken Land of the Gods as soon as possible.
Only after finishing her meal did Neph begin praying to the True Creator. Once she had arranged the altar, she placed a sheet of paper before her. On it were the requests she had just written, concerning both Amon and her need to leave the Forsaken Land of the Gods.
