Who Was Playing Whom Was Still Up in the Air
Klein was deep in thought.
After editing the prayer footage concerning the Wind-blessed potion formula and sending it to Alger, Klein sat alone in Sefirah Castle, lost in thought.
Neph's message had left him baffled. Out of nowhere, he had gone from "Father's fellow countryman" to "Father," and Klein had no idea what had happened.
But since Neph had specifically warned him not to let Amon find him, Klein suspected the reason was less than aboveboard.
His fellow countrywoman had most likely conned someone.
Only when Alger, the Hanged Man, sent word did Klein stop thinking. He forwarded the prayer footage without changing anything, then added at the end:
"Those are indeed singing sunflowers. Are you free right now? I'd like to ask you about Amon."
He wants to haggle, but he's afraid the seller will refuse to sell... Upon receiving the reply, Neph's eyes darted, and she sent back a message:
"I don't think the price can be changed, because the person who has the formula is a King of Angel... I certainly don't have the courage to haggle with him. Mr. Fool, sorry for the trouble, but please tell Mr. Hanged Man that if he still wants to negotiate the price, I can teach him the ritual for praying to that King of Angel.
"As for the time needed to raise the money, he needn't worry too much. After all, time really doesn't mean much to a King of Angel.
"Right now... I should be fairly free right now. Yes, I should be."
After all, Ouroboros said I'd be fine...
Neph finished praying. She was among the singing sunflowers at the moment, and had given up after picking barely two flowers-she had discovered that staying among them made her feel very safe.
Klein responded quickly this time.
