"Sorry," Klein began calmly. "Excuse me, but I'd like to ask: what is the meaning of our coming into this world?"
Lin Chuan answered serenely:
"To have some fun."
Klein shook his head almost imperceptibly, his voice filled with disapproval:
"You misunderstand me, buddy. I mean our ultimate goal in life. When all is said and done, what are we constantly advancing for in this other world?"
He demanded in anguish:
"Is it really just to have some fun? Just to satisfy these base, instinct-driven desires?"
Lin Chuan thought for a moment, then replied:
"Yes."
Klein was somewhat speechless, but he kept trying to persuade him, hoping to awaken the last shred of conscience and humanity in a certain Outer Deity:
"What I mean is, aren't we both doing this to get home?"
Lin Chuan lowered his head and replied with apparent composure:
"Mm."
Klein tilted his head back slightly, met Lin Chuan's gaze, and sighed:
"So, could you pull me out of the ground now?"
Lin Chuan looked at Klein, whose entire body had sunk into the ground, leaving only his helpless-looking head exposed, and finally lost it. He laughed merrily.
Once he had laughed enough, he grabbed Klein's arm beneath the floor and hauled him out with ease.
As he helped Klein up, Lin Chuan said with a perfectly straight face:
"This was to teach you not to rush in recklessly. Never attack blindly before you've figured out what your opponent has up their sleeve. Don't fight battles you aren't prepared for."
Klein steadied himself and sighed. After making sure his feet were on the floor, he sat back down on the sofa.
