Black fire coalesced into a slash in midair. A vicious stroke cleaved down from Guillaume Bénet's shoulder, taking one of his arms with it.
That was the price of a mistaken judgment in combat. Guillaume Bénet had prepared his "Fictional Bottle" and waited for his prey to take the bait, only for that prey to bite off his arm. The roles of hunter and prey seemed to have quietly reversed.
The smile slowly vanished from Guillaume Bénet's face. He snorted in anger, and black vines immediately drooped from above his head, blooming with enormous blood-red flowers.
The moment she saw those bloody flowers, information about them surfaced in Lumian-na's mind.
The books Madam Magician had given her contained such knowledge. After learning that a "Contractee" could enter into contracts with spirit world creatures, Lumian-na had crammed everything she could about them.
She could not call herself an expert in the field, but Lumian-na at least had some understanding of spirit world creatures!
These flowers release an anesthetic gas that puts people to sleep when burned- Lumian-na narrowed her eyes slightly. Crimson fireballs appeared around her, their color shifting toward incandescent white.
She did not rush to detonate the flowers. Instead, she made the fireballs orbit her, gradually forming a vortex of air.
Since Guillaume Bénet was not directly controlling the anesthetic gas with a beyonder ability, she could keep it out with the high-temperature vortex she
had created!
But a moment later, three emerald arrows materialized before Guillaume Bénet and shot toward Lumian-na at tremendous speed. Lumian-na did not dodge. She swung her blade several times, knocking all three arrows aside.
The arrows struck the ground, corroding it with a sizzling hiss. They were clearly spells formed from strong acid.
