| Sequence 8 — Instigator | 146 147 | Advanced after Nimrod extracted another portion of the sealed corruption. Instigator and Provoker began merging, allowing incitement and provocation to work together. |
| Sequence 7 — Witch | 174 188 | Nimrod prepared a Witch potion using a characteristic from the Aurora Order’s stores. Advancement changed Lumian into a woman; her Witch status was confirmed during psychological treatment. |

Background / History
Before living in Cordu Village, Lumian experienced a bleak childhood and wandered between cities. Aurore took him in, and they spent six years together. His initial pursuit of Beyonder powers was driven by the desire to protect her 27 125 231.
Cordu’s apparent reality was a dream shaped around Lumian, while the devastated, evil-god-contaminated ruins were real. Aurore’s presence in that dream came from fragments of her soul. Nimrod entered the dream, became Lumian’s godfather, and guided him toward recognizing the catastrophe rather than remaining inside its repeating twelve-day loop 3 6 8 35 111.
April Fools’ Day had given Aurore an incorrect spell that caused her to summon Roche Louise Samson, the body’s original owner and a Circle of Inevitability believer, into herself. This possession contributed to the tragedy. After awakening, Lumian pursued revenge while treating Aurore’s resurrection as the hope sustaining his life 76 150 174.
In Trier, Lumian established Passion under the alias Ciel, recruited subordinates, organized merchants into a chamber of commerce, and fought rival gangs. Nimrod’s advancement plan combined the Hunter and Demoness pathways because the female aspect would help revive Aurore’s soul. Lumian accepted the Witch transformation despite his earlier unease, becoming Lumian-na 125 139 147 174.
Appearance
- Eyes: Lake-blue; temporarily tinted fiery red during her Pyromaniac advancement 235 256.
- Clothing: Wears a long black robe that gives her a distinctly witchlike appearance 249.
- Earlier attire: As Ciel before her transformation, wore a white shirt, black suit, and silk top hat, influenced by her admiration for Gehrman Sparrow 148.
- Weapon case: Carries a large, heavy blade case or black-cloth-wrapped bundle almost two-thirds her height 249 253.
Personality
Lumian-na is pragmatic, calculating, and willing to borrow other people’s strength. She uses traps, concealed identities, subordinates, and coordinated attacks rather than treating every confrontation as a direct contest of power. She also studies mystical knowledge for its practical value, including pathway abilities and spirit world creatures 149 158 249 254 255 257.
Her ruthlessness toward enemies coexists with sympathy for vulnerable people. Aurore’s values shaped her treatment of others, and the poverty of the Golden Rooster Hotel’s residents strengthened her wish to change the world her sister had criticized. She nevertheless recognizes the danger of enjoying violence: after killing violent men, she deliberately resolved to establish limits rather than lose herself 125 132 159 233.
She responds strongly to genuine kindness. Although aware that Nimrod benefits from their relationship, she trusts him because she believes he truly cares for her. Her attachment to Aurore remains a source of both determination and psychological vulnerability, requiring counseling and treatment 150 158 188 226.
She sometimes hides affection behind teasing or manipulation. When helping Franca, she refused to admit her real feelings and used Instigator techniques to steer the conversation away from them 250.
Abilities & Skills
Dual-Pathway Combat
- Combines Hunter physical enhancements with an Assassin’s concentrated, explosive strike; this combination allowed her to shatter an enemy’s internal organs in a sudden attack 200.
- Retains Hunter environmental adaptability after becoming a Witch, allowing her to enter a factory filled with dangerous chemical gases 199.
- Her dual Sequence 7 spirituality can rival that of some pathways specializing in occult studies 235.
- Maintaining balance between pathways is essential. Nimrod instructed her to keep digestion of the dominant pathway ahead of the other to reduce the risk of losing control 147 156.
Hunting, Tracking, and Traps
- Uses a Hunter’s keen observation and sense of smell to detect faint traces ordinary subordinates miss 158.
- Sets traps around her territory and lures attacking Beyonders into them 139.
- Gains stronger danger intuition after becoming a Pyromaniac, including warnings derived from observation and information gathering rather than only imminent threats 235.
- Uses warning traps to confine Danitz and countertracking techniques to resist pursuit 233 235.
Incitement and Provocation
- Instigator senses emotions and encourages closeness, trust, and willingness to follow her ideas 147.
- Alternating Incitement with Provocation can repeatedly pull an opponent’s emotions in opposite directions, encouraging emotional collapse and poor combat decisions 147.
- Applies these techniques outside combat, including concealing her motives from Franca 250.
Witchcraft and Mirror Magic
- Uses Mirror Magic, black flames, and frost to infiltrate and sabotage ships 234.
- Seals a leaking factory gas tank with ice during Elodie’s rescue 199.
- Can render her body transparent by combining an ability with a small ritual; Witch anti-divination helps conceal her approach 200.
- Has access to Magic Mirror Substitution, although she declined to use it to escape her battle with Claude 253.
- Her black flames finished Bishop Miller and purified the zombies at Bansy Harbor 239.
Pyromaniac Flames
- Produces crimson flames and stronger, charged blazing-white flames 256.
- Shapes flames into High-Temperature Cutting, using Abomination as a vessel to increase the attack’s cutting power 256.
- Uses a transformed Fire of Destruction, whose deployment at Bansy drew the City of Calamity’s attention 237.
- Fire resistance is not absolute: during advancement, her own flames threatened to kill her before the potion’s transformation completed 235.
Divination and Mystical Knowledge
- Learned practical divination from Nimrod and used it to locate Elodie inside the Goodwell Chemical Factory 199.
- Studies Aurore’s Witchcraft Notes, Nimrod’s explanations of the pathways, and books supplied by Madam Magician 158 257.
- Sequence differences limit her divination: locating the Sequence 5 Guillaume Bénet risked alerting him through changes in fate 254.
Reset and Sealed Corruption
- Circle of Inevitability corruption causes everything except her Beyonder characteristics to reset at six each morning to its condition when she was first corrupted 132.
- Used this reset mechanism to recover from otherwise fatal injuries after fighting Claude, concealing her wounds with an illusion in the meantime 253.
- Aurore’s surviving soul fragments remain within her; Nimrod confirmed they were unharmed after the pirate hunt 236.
- City of Calamity contamination attracts powerful Hunter and Demoness forces and items, bringing her closer to reviving Aurore but also making her a possible vessel for dead gods 239 240.
- Her sealed Fate Angel obstructs Guillaume Bénet’s ability to exchange major fates. Abomination and City of Calamity contamination also helped her resist his control 255 256.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Abomination — A saber forged by Nimrod from Shadow Tree wood and Steel Maveti’s Zombie characteristic, given as a coming-of-age gift. Its sharpness cuts through steel, while its durability exceeds that of ordinary Sequence 4 items. Nimrod can upgrade it with higher-sequence Chained pathway characteristics; it cannot absorb them independently. Contact causes continuous mental damage, and prolonged use risks accumulating curses and corruption 248 251.
- Fallen Mercury / Fate-Hunting Blade — Used to manipulate the fishman’s fate and lure it into an ambush. She also prepared to use it to exchange fates and curse Charlotte 202 229.
- Magic Mirrors — Used in her Witch methods and coordinated plans; she discarded one during the opening attack on Guillaume Bénet 255.
- Mr. K’s flesh and blood — Protected her when Charlotte attacked with a dagger 202.
- Aurore’s Witchcraft Notes — A source of continued mystical study 158.
Relationships
- Aurore Lee / Lee Xi — Older sister who took her in and taught her values. Restoring Aurore’s soul and avenging her death drive Lumian-na’s advancement and hunts 125 159 174 226.
- Nimrod — Godfather, rescuer, mentor, and supplier of potions and equipment. Lumian-na recognizes their mutual interests but trusts his personal care for her 26 158 226 248.
- Franca Roland — Friend and combat partner. Helps with investigations and revenge; becomes deeply alarmed by Lumian-na’s injuries after the Claude fight 249 250 253 257.
- Jenna — Friend whose mother, Elodie, Lumian-na rescued. Lumian-na presses Jenna to make an informed choice between ordinary life and the Beyonder world 159 199 253.
- Anthony Reed — Trusted Passion subordinate entrusted with territory and organizational responsibilities; assists in the trap for Guillaume Bénet 172 205 245 255.
- Klein Moretti / Gehrman Sparrow — Admired adventurer and traveling companion. After hearing her story, Klein offered to help if she found a resurrection ritual 148 224 226.
- Madam Magician / Fors — Tarot Club contact who supplies guidance, knowledge, and missions, while encouraging Lumian-na to identify her own goals 97 188 205 220.
- Susie and Justice / Audrey — Provide psychological treatment; Justice confirms the identity of the great being guiding her 150 188.
- Mr. K — Aurora Order contact whose flesh and blood protected her; joined Franca in helping her against Suzanne 202 204.
- Amon, disguised as Termiboros — Hidden within the Fool’s seal, attempts to persuade her to release him and undermine her trust in Nimrod. She rejects his arguments 199 204 246.
- Guillaume Bénet — Principal revenge target connected to Cordu’s catastrophe. Lumian-na and Franca kill him by turning his Rebirth ability against him 255 257.

Notable Quotes
“What I want to do next is simple. Advance my Sequence, keep tracking down the people who killed my sister, and hunt down evil gods’ followers.” 205
“Abomination. Let’s call it ‘Abomination,’ Godfather.” 248
Trivia
- Her voyage fulfills a childhood wish to see the sea; she had never previously visited a seaport 231.
- She named Abomination after the Rose School’s Sequence One, intending it to grow stronger through characteristics taken from their enemies 248.
- Triuna Ciel’s cover suggests that she is the younger sister of Lumian, who used the name Ciel. Linking that identity to her original self requires uncovering several separate layers of information 249.
