For Fors at the angel level right now, Nimrod was not planning to appear before her at all.
Though he carried the aura of the Celestial Worthy upon him and wore Amon's face, this felt even more likely to trigger a stress response in Miss Salted Fish, who had only been an ordinary Beyonder a decade ago.
So unfortunately, although Nimrod had already mapped out a set of intimidation methods targeting Miss Salted Fish in his mind, as long as Miss Salted Fish did not come looking for him directly, Nimrod would rather not court that kind of death.
Although he could now exercise a certain degree of control over Sefirah Castle, provoking Miss Salted Fish would bring him zero benefits-and right now he was only a weak, pitiful, and helpless Sequence 7, so it would be a joke if he accidentally got slapped to death by Salted Fish.
If the opportunity arose, it would still be better to go look for Miss Salted Fish, who was only at Sequence 7 in the Mysteries Timeline.
"Speaking of which, Celestial Worthy."
Nimrod spoke slowly, talking to the empty air as if muttering to himself. Yet from his perspective, the Celestial Worthy, draped in a yellow-black cloak, was standing by his side and twirling prayer beads:
"I remember that while the King of Space-Time can fool history and travel through time, you have no way to change the past, right?"
"...Then, if I were to change the history of the 'past', would the 'present' change immediately?"
The sunlight outside the window spilled over the Celestial Worthy, passing straight through this illusory shadow and striking the floor at an angle.
It was already getting late, and Lumian had followed his guidance to Cordu Village to send telegrams, go fishing, and seek out any assistance that could help him escape.
So, in this rarely leisurely time... Nimrod decided to have a small discussion with the Celestial Worthy concerning his own unique traits.
Hearing Nimrod's words, the Celestial Worthy's hand stopped twirling the beads. He took two steps forward, sat down across from Nimrod, and smiled as he said:
"Is this considered you preparing to cooperate with me?"
"Just asking a question." Nimrod did not give the Celestial Worthy the slightest chance to exploit a loophole.
"...Well, that really is a ruthless phrasing."
The Celestial Worthy sighed, still putting away the beads he was twirling in his hand, and spoke to Nimrod:
"But I don't mind telling you these things."
The Celestial Worthy paused for a fleeting moment:
"You should know that the time, space, and even the rules and symbols of our world all originate from that Original Creator, from the complete 'me', right?"
He naturally took credit for it.
"Under original circumstances, the history that 'Sefirah Castle' can support me in backtracking is not completely false, but it is definitely not real either."
The Celestial Worthy gently opened each finger of his right hand:
"To give an example, the 'Epoch of the Great Old Ones' on this planet has already been destroyed due to the awakening of the Original Creator, connecting the symbols of the Astral World and the records of the Spirit World-bang! Not a single speck left."
He maintained his flippant tone:
"And now, if the complete me were to descend into this world, then as long as I wanted to, I could 'deceive' the Spirit World, 'fool' the Astral World, 'transfer' reality, and piece together the era of the Great Old Ones using fragments of history."
"Then, blur the boundaries between reality and history, making the two transition into one another-truth can become falsehood, and falsehood can become truth. Everything from the era of the Great Old Ones would cover the Earth in the span of a moment, and everyone would be laughing and chatting happily, as if the Original had never awakened."
"All I need to do is move the sun over and reset the fixed star, and reality becomes history while history becomes reality. Do you think this counts as changing history?"
Listening to the Celestial Worthy's words, Nimrod already vaguely had his answer.
If one were to go by the most rigorous definition, then of course this did not count as changing history-unlike Nimrod's current state, where Nimrod was walking along two different timelines simultaneously, with both timelines rolling forward.
"So, you should have realized your own specialness by now, too?" The Celestial Worthy slowly began to speak: "In our world, history and time are things that always march forward. Yet your status is sufficient to support you in carving out a completely new timeline from an 'origin point'-that is, the moment of your transmigrations."
"Of course, I am not you, and you shouldn't ask me." The Celestial Worthy's eyes narrowed slightly:
"I can only make some... small guesses. For instance, minor actions you take on the other timeline will not be reflected here; only when the status of the vessel you occupy continuously elevates will the consequences of what you do on the other timeline feed back into the 'future'."
With that, the Celestial Worthy let out a soft laugh: "Are you satisfied with such an answer?"
"About what I thought."
Nimrod nodded, speaking in the empty room. The Celestial Worthy's voice paused for a few seconds before speaking to Nimrod with a faint smile:
"--Actually, I have one more question, compatriot."
"How long do you plan to play around in this dream? As long as the source of this dream-meaning Lumian Lee-receives a certain amount of stimulation, it will cause this dream to shatter. We completely don't need to waste this much time on this dream."
The Celestial Worthy's gaze fixed upon Nimrod, as if attempting to sound out Nimrod's depth. Nimrod turned his head, looking at the Celestial Worthy with deep eyes for several seconds:
"...But why should I end this dream so early?"
"You have no way to actively separate from my body, no way to use the will awakening within me to influence outside matters, while I can stay atop 'Sefirah Castle', safely digesting potions, and even digest the 'Marauder' and 'Mystery Pryer' potions completely before returning to Tingen. So why would I end the dream this early?"
"--Oh, I almost forgot, every time I digest a Beyonder Characteristic, the mental imprint inside it is completely obliterated by me. So, you're starting to feel your own 'death' and growing impatient?"
At this, a faint, vibrating chuckle rose from the depths of Nimrod's chest:
"Besides, I truly do treat Lumian Lee with sincerity. You might only view him as the future 'Calamity of Destruction'... but he is an independent and free person. If you do not treat him with sincerity, how could he possibly help you in the future?"
"Of course, turning him into your marionette or avatar could also achieve your goal, but how rare are marionettes and avatars backstabbing their main body? My dear God, who keeps claiming that He can be merciful?"
The Celestial Worthy withdrew his gaze, his tone carrying a trace of regret that was hard to tell whether it was feigned or genuine:
"You and I are no different. Heh, originally I thought you might just be an ordinary person disguised as a god-but now it seems you really are just as paranoid as every single one of us."
"You think everyone is 'the Fool'?" Nimrod said casually with a slight smile, subtly dissing a certain Fool.
The Celestial Worthy gently shook his head, his figure gradually dissolving into the bright sunlight.
"Since I have no way to actively separate from your body, then sitting together in the highest position isn't so bad either."
A laugh came from within the sunlight, carrying a tone that was hard to tell whether it was encouragement or mockery:
"Keep it up, compatriot."
