The fire spread rapidly. The eucalyptus trees struck by cannon fire had initially burned in scattered patches, but those patches eventually joined into a massive forest fire.
Eucalyptus trees grew in abundance along Southshore's coastline. These evergreen trees were rich in oil, making them ideal fuel once a large fire took hold.
Within half an hour, the eucalyptus forest near the coast became a sea of flames. Ferocious flames more than twenty meters high swept through everything in their path, burning every living thing in sight.
Grayish-yellow ash and smoke filled the air. Thick smoke blotted out the sky, hiding the sun. The waves of flame from the forest fire
became the brightest source of light on the entire battlefield.
Fortunately, Azeroth had no Environmental Girl to come out, point at Rowan's nose, and shout, "How dare you!"
The Warsong Clan's orcs could no longer use the forest for cover. Driven out by the heat and thick smoke, they had no choice but to flee toward the shore.
"Aim at the orc soldiers ahead and blast them! Don't leave a single one alive!"
Rowan surveyed his surroundings. The horrific scene weighed on him so heavily that he could barely breathe.
To the north, the forest fire raged out of control, its thick smoke still shrouding the sky. To the south, the troll fleet was closing in. Three of its warships had already rammed the port side of an Iron Warship. Though the ship remained stable, several troll soldiers were already trying to board Rowan's vessel.
I've gone a little too far this time. This isn't how I usually do things. I'm supposed to play it safe.
"Starboard cannons, don't worry about the recoil from firing at close range. Blast apart any enemy ship that comes near us!" Leonard ordered loudly.
