After a simple dinner, Rowan returned to his bedroom with the Heart of Azeroth tucked away.
It was an artifact that had defined an entire expansion. Surely it had to be useful.
Although Rowan had already prepared himself for the possibility that the Heart of Azeroth's various abilities in the game existed for the sake of game ***, he still refused to give up. Perhaps binding it to his soul would let him soar to new heights right away.
"System... System, come out and get to work." Rowan called the Damn System out to play its part.
The Damn System sounded lazy and listless. "Don't call me if you don't have points. I've been busy redeeming things and collecting data for you these past few days. I'm almost out of memory. Stop yapping. I'm going into standby for a rest."
Damn it! First you complained that I never used you, and now that I use you too much, you're sick of me.
"Don't go to sleep yet. I got the Heart of Azeroth. Is there a way to bind it to my soul?" Rowan hurriedly asked before the system entered standby.
The system carefully examined the artifact Guardian Medivh had pried out of the Chamber of Heart, then said solemnly, "Host, it's not that I don't want to help. This thing isn't just a piece of equipment. In other words, it has to choose to bind itself to you. You can't force it."
"It's a piece of equipment. Why would I force it?" Rowan looked puzzled.
The system said faintly, "That, I don't know. Anyway, there's nothing I can do. Going to sleep now."
As the Damn System's voice slowly faded, Rowan remembered its claim that, with enough points, it could solve any problem for him.
What a fraud... Though
