Even though Southshore was the Burning Legion's main target, the interior of the Fel Teleportation Engine remained heavily guarded.
Azgalor had stationed large numbers of guards inside to protect the engine's energy circulation.
"I'll conceal my energy fluctuations and scout the upper floors. You two take out the sentries and kill any Evil Eye guards patrolling along the way," Capernian suggested.
Rowan nodded slightly, approving Capernian's initial plan.
"Sounds good. We'll wait for you at the entrance on the ground floor."
The engine tower was an enormous, multistory structure. Using Shaping Form, Rowan slipped around the back of the spire and into the ground-floor hall, the lowest level of the engine's three-story structure.
Through the energy-sensing ability granted by the Heart of Azeroth, Rowan discovered special transmission structures inside the surrounding fel metal.
Unlike conventional arcane structures, these had no spell runes or connected channels. Instead, they used a peculiar covering of light energy.
"Light-energy covering" was a description Rowan had coined himself. It was unlike electricity, and even more unlike conventional energy transmission, yet it could move-and in a way Rowan had never encountered before.
Strange.
While Rowan touched the energy channels inside the Fel Metal wall, Sylvanas began sketching the felguards' patrol routes on a rough map.
The Greater Invisibility Orb Sylvanas carried had its limits. If the high-ranking demon eyes detected their energy fluctuations, she and Rowan would become everyone's targets.
That meant Sylvanas had to strike first, shooting Chaos-Infused Fel Arrows into the Evil Eyes' eyeballs to kill them before that happened.
"They're coming closer. We need to keep our distance and hide behind the next pillar." Sylvanas took Rowan's wrist and naturally led him forward through the frost shadows.
Rowan turned his hand to clasp her slender fingers and followed close behind.
"There are seven
