After seeing Mei Ling Hyuga off, Ruri returned to the room and briefly put away the things Mei Ling Hyuga had just given her. Then Ruri took a bag of beef jerky, closed the door, and went out.
There were still a day or two before reporting to the Anbu, so Ruri decided to go to the Back Mountain to train and improve his current strength.
After reaching the Back Mountain behind Hokage Rock, Ruri took off his clothes and put them beneath a large tree. Looking at the river before him, he said, "I wonder who the members of Kakashi's team are!"
"I wonder what sort of work the Anbu does. Hopefully it won't be too boring!" Ruri said with a smile.
With that, Ruri began his training for the day.
"Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms!"
Standing before the copper dummy he had previously commissioned, Ruri spoke softly. Then he brought his hands together, and they became blurs as he struck the dummy palm after palm.
When Ruri landed his final palm strike on the copper dummy, a faint crack appeared in its body.
"Rasengan!"
A blue ball of chakra appeared in the center of Ruri's right palm, and he thrust it toward the copper dummy before him.
This blow left a very noticeable, large dent in the copper dummy. After withdrawing his hand, Ruri said, "It's still a little weak. I wonder when I'll be able to upgrade the Rasengan!"
Over the past year, Ruri's Rasengan had kept growing more powerful, but for some time now, it had stopped getting stronger. He did not know exactly why, either.
"Forget it. When it's time to upgrade, it'll happen naturally! I won't think about it anymore!" Ruri muttered to himself as he looked at the center of his palm.
