Kakashi Hatake was an elite Jonin of Konohagakure in the Land of Fire, a former member of Konoha's Anbu, a student of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, the captain of Konoha's Team 7, and the teacher of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno.
A prodigy who became a Jonin at just twelve, he later received Obito Uchiha's Sharingan in his left eye. Having copied over a thousand ninjutsu with it, he became known as the "Copy Ninja" and "Kakashi of the Sharingan," names that resounded throughout the nations.
During the Fourth Shinobi World War, he had the misfortune of having his left Sharingan stolen by Madara Uchiha. Fortunately, Naruto restored his left eye with Yin-Yang Release.
Before Obito died, he bestowed the Sharingan on Kakashi again through chakra, allowing him to briefly wield the full power of the Mangekyō Sharingan and use Perfect Susanoo. With that power, he joined his three Team 7 students in sealing Kaguya Ōtsutsuki during the final battle.
After the war ended, he became Konoha's Sixth Hokage. Several years later, he stepped down, and Naruto became the Seventh Hokage. He and Might Guy set off on a journey to seek out memories of the past.
Over the past few years, Kakashi had endured the nightmare of killing Rin Nohara with his own hands. Then, last year, his teacher, the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, had also died during the Nine-Tails' invasion of Konoha. He had never woken from that nightmare, and now others called him "Cold-Blooded Kakashi."
