Ruri and the others recovered a woman’s bag from a thief, and she revealed that the soy-braised beef inside was her most precious possession. The thief began to regain consciousness after Ruri’s punch.
Ruri, Uchiha Itachi, Kakashi, Yamato, and Uzuki Yugao dealt with a thief before continuing their mission to deliver the Ninja Cats to Cat Granny. They arrived at Cat Granny’s place, where Ruri was immediately bothered by the strong cat smell.
Kakashi and his companions delivered three Ninja Cats to Cat Granny despite Ruri's dislike of the strong smell. Cat Granny gave them five Lucky Cat Charms, and they left to report on the mission.
Ruri, Uchiha Itachi, and Uzuki Yugao left Cat Granny’s home after their mission and talked about the smell and their cat pendants. Kakashi went to settle the mission payment, while the others headed home admiring their gifts.
Ruri enjoyed a quiet day with Ruri and Uchiha Itachi, then spent the next several days away from training before returning to practice. Momokusa Harukawa found him at Back Mountain, and they sat together by the river to talk about school.
Ruri gave Momokusa Harukawa a bracelet made from a Lucky Cat Necklace, and the two friends talked about growing up and traveling together. They stayed together watching the sunset, sharing their hopes for the future.
Ten years later, Ruri had become a powerful teacher to Neji Hyuga, Hinata Hyuga, and Naruto Uzumaki, while many of the changes caused by his arrival had reshaped the village. He and Momokusa Harukawa had become a couple and, sitting together by the Small River, promised to keep working hard and stay by each other’s side.
Ruri and Momokusa Harukawa spent a happy day together and said goodbye at their homes. In a cave near Konoha, a white-haired man watched his monsters hatch and prepared to begin his revenge against the village.
Ruri woke to a dark, eerily silent Konoha and went looking for Harukawa, worried that something had happened. He encountered a frightening One-Eyed Monster on Main Street, which began circling him as if seeking a weakness.
Ruri faced a mysterious One-Eyed Monster that seemed to threaten Konoha. After dodging its attack and finding it too strong to defeat with his weapon, Ruri killed it with a Rasengan.
Ruri reached Momokusa Harukawa's house and found her safe but unusually weak after waking her. He suspected she had been poisoned with an anesthetic, while his missing family and the attack's cause remained unresolved.
Ruri learned that Haku created the One-Eyed Monsters to destroy Konoha and that the monsters had captured the missing villagers. He reunited with Kakashi and his teammates, then returned with them to check on Momokusa Harukawa.
Ruri discovered that the monsters became defenseless for three seconds after attacking, helping the villagers and ninja defeat them more quickly. After Kakashi received orders to reinforce a battle at a cave near Konoha, the group joined hundreds of comrades fighting monsters and learned that Haku was using villagers to produce them.
Ruri entered the Cave and discovered that monsters were being born from a pool using chakra drained from people outside. After Haku trapped him, Ruri activated Super Saiyan Mode, and his black hair began turning golden.
Ruri fought Haku after entering Super Saiyan Mode, testing a new Red Rasengan against Haku’s Black Rasengan. Their attacks exploded and injured Ruri’s palms, and Haku followed up by firing purple little balls at him.
Ruri struggled against Haku’s expanding purple orbs, which attached to his arm and exploded, badly injuring him. Uchiha Itachi joined the fight, but his slashes missed Haku, leaving Ruri wounded and determined to retaliate.
Ruri and Uchiha Itachi teamed up against Haku, who absorbed their Ninjutsu and returned it at them. Ruri knocked Itachi aside, but the redirected attacks blasted both of them through a wall, leaving Momokusa Harukawa to cry out in alarm.
Momokusa Harukawa and Uzuki Yugao treated Ruri and Uchiha Itachi after Haku badly injured them. Haku defeated Konoha’s strongest fighters and threatened to destroy the village, while Harukawa vanished after glaring at him.
Ruri rescued the badly injured Momokusa Harukawa and confronted Haku after he struck her. Ruri sent Haku flying toward a small river, while the Konoha ninja watched in confusion as his injuries healed and his strength surged.
Ruri used his enhanced powers to overwhelm Haku after Haku attacked Konoha and injured Momokusa Harukawa. He killed Haku and absorbed all the chakra in his body.
Ruri killed Haku, ending the source of the One-Eyed Monsters and turning the battle in Konoha’s favor. He thanked Momokusa Harukawa as she recovered, while the remaining ninja fought to finish off the monsters.
Ruri returned to the battle after helping Momokusa Harukawa rest and learning that Uchiha Itachi was recovering. He joined Kakashi to finish off the weakened monsters while Uzuki Yugao continued treating Itachi.
Ruri and the Konoha ninja defeated the One-Eyed Monsters, but Ruri collapsed from exhaustion and his severe injuries. As Uzuki Yugao treated him, Kakashi organized the cleanup and rescue of people trapped on the wall.
After recovering from his injuries, Ruri declined the offer to become Hokage so he could explore the world with Momokusa Harukawa. They left Konoha together, while the village returned to peace.
