Background / History

Lu Ran was responsible for stripping Lu Chen's bloodline while they were members of the Lu Family. Lu Chen was subsequently sold to the Cangwu City beast-fighting arena, while Lu Ran benefited from the stolen bloodline and entered Tianyu Academy. 1 14 17

Following Lu Chen's return and destruction of the Lu Family leadership, Lu Ran's relatives and supporters were left exposed. The Lu Family initially continued to rely on Lu Ran's standing in Tianyu Academy, but later withdrew its support as Lu Chen's strength and influence became impossible to ignore. 15 20

At Tianyu Academy, Lu Ran underwent an unprecedented double tribulation, advancing into the Golden Core Realm while forming his Martial Dao True Form. His survival and the explosion caused by his attempt to seize part of the tribulation cloud earned him the title “Son of Heavenly Dao.” 21 22

Lu Ran is proud, vindictive, and intensely preoccupied with status. He dismisses Lu Chen as an “ant” despite fearing the threat Lu Chen represents, and his resentment deepens whenever Lu Chen publicly humiliates him. 47 48

He is also calculating and cruel. He chose seclusion over answering Lu Chen's challenges because the stolen bloodline had not fully fused, then planned to refine it completely and use his eventual strength to torture and kill Lu Chen. 24 50
