Time flew, and soon it was Wednesday, December 10.
It was the day Cynthia had agreed with Qingyu to come to Paldea for the tournament.
"Vee..."
When Qingyu woke from a nightmare of being crushed flat, the great lump of Eevee sprawled on his chest nearly left him unable to breathe.
Good grief, do you know how heavy you are? Are you trying to murder your Trainer?!
With practiced ease, he grabbed Eevee by the scruff of the neck with one hand and tossed the Pokémon onto the bed. Only then did Qingyu let out a long breath.
After shaking off the fur Eevee had left on him, Qingyu quickly changed and headed to the bathroom.
As he washed up, he repeatedly inspected himself in the mirror, making sure every detail was perfect.
The bangs on my forehead need to move another five millimeters to the right!
Normally, Qingyu, who had grown accustomed to living like a wild man, might not have been so particular.
But today was different. He was finally seeing his childhood friend again after so long, so naturally, he had to spruce himself up.
Qingyu smiled at his reflection.
"As expected of my eighteen-year-old self. I'm pretty handsome when I make an effort!"
Once he finished washing up, Qingyu quickly headed into the main hall.
Eevee was still fast asleep in the bedroom, while Riolu had already gone out for a morning run.
Aside from him, the only one still awake in the gym was Miraidon, who had stationed itself outside the kitchen right on schedule and was proudly holding its head high, waiting to be fed.
Three meals a day, without fail, with the occasional extra meal.
That was Miraidon's daily routine.
After preparing breakfast for all three Pokémon, Qingyu walked out of the gym
