As the sun sank in the west, their survey of Exeggutor Island came to an end, but one mystery remained unsolved in Xin Mu's notebook: where had the Exeggutor missing a head gone?
According to past records, the reason Alolan Exeggutor lost their heads was still unclear. It might be due to battle, an accident, or a deliberate shedding to produce new offspring.
But subsequent observations showed that an Exeggutor's fallen head usually grew back within a very short time.
It was hardly surprising, then, that Xin Mu and the others had searched the entire island without finding the Exeggutor missing a head.
"Maybe it already grew back? Lucario didn't find any Exeggutor missing a head, but she did find a few with noticeably smaller heads."
Earlier, Lucario had scanned the island's Exeggutor population with her Aura, trying to locate a particular individual.
In the end, though, she had found nothing. Such intensive Aura scanning also drained Lucario's stamina.
Energetic as she was, she didn't mind, but the Exeggutor could sense her Aura probing them, too.
Although the intense sunlight here had restored the Exeggutor to their original Dragon/Grass typing, they still retained the ability to use psychic powers.
With their three heads working together, they could also multitask. Some Exeggutor had already noticed what Xin Mu and the others were doing and had grown a little wary.
Exeggutor were relatively gentle, but that didn't mean they were completely harmless. Even a cornered rabbit would bite, and constantly using that sort of ability around other Pokémon wasn't a good idea.
"Squirtle. (Maybe that head was independent to begin with? Maybe it grew legs and ran over here on its own.)"
Squirtle quietly voiced his theory from the sidelines. Meownei rolled her eyes but said nothing, merely deciding to check his
