"The Form War... has already begun?"
Zeratul's report plunged Shen Jun into deep thought, but his next words shattered that contemplation.
"From the Trigonians who sent the signal, I've learned that the incoming Trigonian army is called the Variegated Blue..."
Variegated Blue!
Shen Jun thought he could no longer be surprised by anything, but he realized he was wrong.
In the storyline, the Trigonian threat faced by Ge Xiaolun and the main cast twenty thousand years later came precisely from the Variegated Blue Empire!
And Variegated Blue was also the largest remaining Trigonian force after the Form War ended.
In that moment, countless possibilities flashed through Shen Jun's mind. He ultimately decided to put the Protoss on full war footing. With the Trigonian army on its way, the Angel army would likely arrive soon as well. Once the two sides clashed, the Protoss could easily be caught in the crossfire.
He had no idea that the main Angel and Trigonian forces were already locked in fierce combat, and that Variegated Blue had actually fled the battlefield for no apparent reason...
Early the next morning, eighty thousand Protoss stood in orderly formation on the great plaza before the Twilight Council. Tassadar, Zeratul, Alarak, Selandis, Vorazun, Kerasul, and Talandar stood at the front, lined up in a row.
Shen Jun stood atop the Twilight Council building, looking down upon all the Protoss.
"Brothers and sisters, today I can finally call you that in truth. The blood of the Protoss flows through me as well—and not just any blood, but that of the most legendary hero, Adun! Like you, I have lost my former home, but I have led you to rebuild our home on this Giant Elephant Star."
"I know many of you dream of one day returning to our homeland and defeating Amon once more. But I must tell you—the universe that birthed the Protoss no longer exists. You cannot return to the world you once knew!"
At these words, a stir ran through the Protoss below. Many of the old-era Protoss who had never seen Amon did not take him seriously. They believed they had come to the Super God Universe merely to recuperate, with revenge as their ultimate goal. Being told now that they were nothing but "homeless dogs" was something no one could easily stomach.
The commotion quickly subsided as they turned their gazes to Shen Jun, waiting for him to continue.
Shen Jun carried the blood of Adun, and Adun was the greatest hero in the hearts of every Protoss. Unconsciously, the Protoss had come to see Shen Jun as Adun's incarnation.
"Brothers and sisters, now is the time to let go of the past and build a new nation here. We will restore the glory of the Protoss in this universe. Even in a strange cosmos, we will make every race witness the revival of a great civilization—the Protoss!"
Shen Jun's voice was magnetic, carrying passion and conviction to every Protoss's ears.
"Today, I will rebuild Daelaam here, leading you as the second Hierarch. I will carry on Artanis's will, so that the world will forever remember the brilliance of the Protoss. En Taro Artanis!"
"Not only that—the land beneath our feet will no longer be called Giant Elephant Star. It will be our Aiur!"
Shen Jun paused, and the entire crowd erupted.
"En Taro Artanis!"
"Hierarch, we pledge our loyalty to you!"
Today, the Protoss found a new direction: to follow in Shen Jun's footsteps, not only to restore their past but to make the Protoss stronger than in their Golden Age!
"Hmph, using Artanis's prestige to elevate himself in the Protoss's eyes. Our new Hierarch is quite cunning."
Alarak's tone was flippant.
"Enough, Gao JianGuo. Do you think everyone is like you?"
Vorazun, standing beside him, cut him off with a sharp tone. Because Shen Jun could never resist calling Alarak "Gao JianGuo," Vorazun and the others had picked up the habit.
"Wh-what? Gao... Gao JianGuo? Who allowed you to call me that?"
Alarak was so furious he could barely speak. Vorazun just rolled her eyes at him and ignored him, secretly gloating inside. In the old days, she had never once won an argument against Alarak, but now a simple nickname left him stammering.
Alarak trembled with rage, but with the occasion being what it was, he couldn't lash out. He had to swallow his anger and continue listening to Shen Jun's speech, muttering inwardly: "When it comes to brainwashing, no one knows it better than me!"
"But!" Shen Jun suddenly interrupted the Protoss's fervent cheers, his tone growing even more intense. "This universe is far more dangerous than you imagine. We are no longer the strongest race in the cosmos. Here, there is an eighty-thousand-year-old Angel civilization, a forty-thousand-year-old Lieyang civilization, the Deno civilization dedicated to god-forging, Trigonians, and Beast Bodies... We have many competitors!"
"In just half a year, a massive Trigonian army will come to seize our new home. And I can tell you with full responsibility that with our current strength, we cannot win this war. So, in these six months, all warriors must fully cooperate with the researchers. We need to build a battle-ready fleet as quickly as possible and meet the enemy beyond our home!"
"We cannot suffer the shame of our homeworld being invaded a second time!"
"So, I hope the Templar will set aside their pride and follow the instructions of the Phase-smiths. All of this—for Aiur!"
Shen Jun finished his speech, and an eerie silence fell over the crowd.
"For Aiur!"
After a pause, someone shouted, and then all the Protoss joined in the roar.
"For Aiur!"
Shen Jun knew that from this day forward, nothing could shake his leadership over the Protoss.
Three months later, Shen Jun arrived at the Fleet Beacon. A group of highly skilled Phase-smiths, led by Kerasul, were hard at work. Although the data preserved by Rohana was detailed enough, it still required extensive cross-checking and organization. For now, only the Phoenix Fighter, Observer, Warp Prism, and Arbiter could be perfectly reconstructed. The data for the Void Ray was nearly complete as well, and in the short term, the only capital ship they could restore production of was the Void Ray.
Just as the Protoss were busily building their fleet, an uninvited guest arrived on Aiur.
She was a perfect God River Body Being—exquisite features, blue pupils, a height of one meter seventy-eight, long, fair legs, and a cascade of silver hair. On her back grew a pair of pure white wings. She possessed every quality of beauty in the universe, enough to drive any creature wild.
It was Angel He Xi, the former Heavenly Based King of the Three Angel Kings, and the Holy Right Wing of the current Angel Queen, Keisha.
Before the Form War began, Variegated Blue's withdrawal had caught Keisha's attention. She ordered He Xi, who had been stationed in the rear, to investigate the situation. In the end, He Xi obtained the coordinates of an unknown planet—the present-day Aiur.
The Trigonians had only recently discovered the original Giant Elephant Star and had no time to build a Great Wormhole Bridge. Moreover, the Trigonians' flight speed was far slower than the Angels' Wings of Time and Space. As a result, He Xi arrived on Aiur a full three months ahead of the Variegated Blue army.
