"I haven't seen the finished cake yet, so I'm looking forward to it."
"Hehe, you should. It's homemade, but it turned out pretty well."
"I'm the one who did the work."
"Oh? I wonder if you could reach that level all on your own?"
When Kaim fell silent, Cynthia and Caitlin exchanged a smile.
Kaim sighed softly, took a large chocolate cake out of the refrigerator, and set it on the dining table. Strawberries topped the chocolate cake, which was beautifully decorated with whipped cream and powder.
"Wow, it's so beautifully done."
"I think the first attempt was better."
"The craftsmanship is wonderful. It looks delicious."
"I'm glad you like it."
Even to Cynthia, the cake looked well made. She hadn't expected the sponge she had baked herself to turn out so beautifully. Although it wasn't quite as good as the cakes sold in stores, there was no doubt that it would fetch a fairly high price for something handmade.
"Is this a cookie?"
Then Cynthia noticed something unfamiliar that looked like a cookie decorating the cake. On closer inspection, it was shaped like Garchomp.
"Wow! It's a Garchomp cookie!"
"It's called icing. I practiced until I could do it."
"Practiced? Where?"
Cynthia and Kaim lived together. So if Kaim had done something he didn't usually do, she would have noticed, yet she hadn't seen any sign of it.
"Oh, no, well..."
Seeing Kaim stumble over his words, Cynthia tilted her head.
"Ah, actually, I practiced at Mr. Toogan's house on my way home from the gym."
"I had no idea you were doing that."
Besides Garchomp, cookies depicting Bullet Seed and Lucario decorated the cake. They were quite well done, and Cynthia let out an admiring sound.
"Hey, can I take a picture?"
"Yeah."
"Thanks."
