Chu Xin had never expected there to be members of Thief in the Third Pokémon Nature Reserve. Still, their presence gave him the perfect opportunity. If he helped the Nidoran group defeat them, he could earn the group's goodwill and perhaps get Nidoking's permission to catch an outstanding Nidoran.
And so Chu Xin decided to help Nidoking and the Nidoran group capture the members of Thief operating here.
Capturing them would be extremely difficult. The Third Pokémon Nature Reserve was a national-level project, a sanctuary where the nation had pledged to protect Pokémon. No members of Thief were allowed here.
Anyone who dared poach Pokémon in the Third Pokémon Nature Reserve was no ordinary criminal. Every one of them had to be ruthless. After all, getting caught meant going to prison!
Catching poachers was no simple matter. To evade the reserve's staff, they generally kept their movements well hidden. Unless they showed themselves, even An Dongyang, the man in charge of the entire reserve, could find no leads on them.
Chu Xin would have to come up with a way to catch these cunning poachers.
The good news was that the poachers had recently set their sights on the Nidoran group in the Plains at the center of the Swamp. If they wanted to catch Nidoran, they would have to reveal their whereabouts. Once they did, Chu Xin could pick up their trail and use it to root out the entire group!
After thinking it over for a moment, Chu Xin decided to stay with the Nidoran group for a while and look for traces of Thief.
When Chu Xin told Nidoking his plan, Nidoking readily agreed, surprising him with how quickly he accepted.
But after hearing Nidoking's explanation, Chu Xin finally understood why.
