Bai Le and Chu Xin were in a sorry state after escaping the Secret Realm. They were considered geniuses among their peers, but defeats this humiliating were still very rare.
Chu Xin took a bottle of drink from their makeshift camp and had a sip, calming the panic of their recent escape. Remembering the frenzied Pokémon inside the Secret Realm gave him a headache.
"Why are there so many Pokémon in the Secret Realm? If this is what the Trial's Secret Realm is like, there's no way we can finish the mission!
"And didn't you check what was inside when you came here before? How did you handle it even worse than I did?"
Bai Le scratched his head awkwardly and turned to Chu Xin beside him, offering a helpless explanation.
"Actually, I didn't pay much attention the first time I came here. When I entered the Secret Realm and saw all those Pokémon, I got scared and left.
"I already knew there were a lot of Pokémon inside, but I never expected this many.
"What should we do? Do we keep going with the Trial? I don't think the two of us can possibly pass it."
Bai Le left something unsaid: they had still underestimated the number of frenzied monsters in the Secret Realm. The space inside was enormous, as big as three or four soccer fields, yet the density of Pokémon throughout it was absurd. Clearing out all those Pokémon with just the two of them was nothing but a pipe dream.
It looked like a completely impossible mission. But if Chu Xin's guess was right, Bai Le's Master had prepared this Secret Realm specifically for him. Surely a Master wouldn't give his disciple a Trial that was utterly impossible to pass?
Had I gotten something wrong?
