That was Mesprit's Feather! Mesprit was a Legendary Pokémon, a Pokémon exceedingly rare even across the entire world. Yet a resource of that caliber had been given to Slowking to increase his power. Carbink and Nidorino could only look on with envy.
Carbink felt it especially keenly. Luo Luo had told him that he had lost only because he had given up a few seconds before Slowking. If he had held on for those few extra seconds, Mesprit's Feather would have been his.

Compared to Carbink, however, Nidorino felt rather discouraged. Carbink had the Mew Gene, and now Slowking had received Mesprit's Feather, another legendary resource. Meanwhile, aside from training hard, he had no other resources at all. Could he really surpass Carbink and Slowking when they had such legendary resources to strengthen them?
