After the battle ended, the winner was Slowking, who had held out until the very end. Even so, Slowking had already fallen unconscious. If poor Carbink knew its opponent had only lasted a few seconds longer, would it cry itself to death?
Chu Xin entertained that rather wicked thought, but that was not what mattered right now. First, he needed to get his injured Pokémon treated.
Chu Xin recalled both Slowking and Carbink into their Poké Balls, then ran to the Academy's Pokémon Treatment Center.
Once he arrived at the Treatment Center, a nurse gave Chu Xin a scolding. She had never seen Pokémon injured so badly before and even suspected he had a penchant for abusing them. If Chu Xin had not desperately explained himself, the Dean might have had to fetch him from the police station.
Still, the scolding served as a reminder to Chu Xin. In future Trials, he had better keep a closer eye on his Pokémon rather than let them suffer such serious injuries over something like this.
Fortunately, the Pokémon Treatment Center had excellent medical technology. Within minutes, Slowking and Carbink walked up to Chu Xin completely healed, though he still could not escape another scolding from the nurse.
Chu Xin returned to the Training Room in embarrassment. Seeing his fully recovered Pokémon, he felt a lingering fear. He could not set the rules for battles so carelessly again.
But that could wait. What mattered most now was Slowking's reward.
"Slowking, what do you want?"
Slowking looked at Chu Xin with clear eyes and voiced its wish without any hesitation.
"I want greater power."
Greater power, huh. It seemed Electrike really had gotten to Slowking. Since receiving Mesprit's blessing, Chu Xin could sense the emotions within his Pokémon, and he could feel Slowking's frustration.
