"Want to prove you're not trash? Then duel me," Gui Wu said slyly. "Don't worry, I won't kill you. At most, I'll break all four of your limbs."

Light flashed in his hands. A shield appeared in his left, and a spear four meters long appeared in his right.

Although Long Haochen knew he stood no chance of defeating Gui Wu alone now that Gui Wu had a mount, he still took out his equipment with a resolute expression. He would fight for his own dignity and his teacher's.

"Screee!"

Just as Gui Wu and Long Haochen were about to fight, a piercing eagle cry rang out above them.

A huge shadow swept over their heads a moment later.

A fierce wind rose, howling overhead.

"What is that?"

Long Haochen looked up to see a Windrider Eagle with a wingspan of over five meters hovering between them, beating its wings.

Then a figure clad in light knight armor leaped off the Windrider Eagle's back and landed between the two.

"Looks like you've run into some trouble," Yue Shen said with a smile. "Good thing I got here in time."

"You?"

Gui Wu, standing opposite him, immediately lost some of his composure. His black token had already informed him that this bird of prey was a fifth-rank magical beast, just like his Red-Armored Earth Dragon. Given the relationship between these two, they would very likely team up against him. At that thought, Gui Wu's face turned ashen.

"You like ganging up on people, huh?" Yue Shen gave Gui Wu an amused look. "What a coincidence. So do I."

Yue Shen drew two Knight Light Swords from his back and said with a smile, "I heard what you said just now. You were going to break all four of his limbs, right?"

Looking at the Windrider Eagle circling overhead and the two fully armed knights, even Gui Wu, arrogant as he was, knew he was no match for them.

"Just you wait!" Gui Wu glared at Long Haochen through gritted teeth.

He immediately activated the token in his hand with spiritual power. A Crimson-Gold Light Formation radiating a powerful aura appeared beneath his feet. With a flash of light, he and the Red-Armored Earth Dragon beneath him were teleported out of the Knight Sacred Mountain.

Yue Shen curled his lip at the sight. He knew that if Gui Wu wanted to flee, there was no way he could stop him. Besides, he had never really intended to fight Gui Wu. After all, he still had no mount.

"Thank you," Long Haochen said beside him. "If you hadn't helped me today, I might have had to leave the Knight Sacred Mountain. I owe you a favor."

"It was nothing. Don't worry about it."

Yue Shen shook his head slightly and extended a hand to Long Haochen. "I'm Yue Shen, from the Demon-Resisting Sub-Temple. Fourth-tier, ninth-level Grand Knight."

"Long Haochen, from the Haoyue Branch Hall. Fourth-tier, seventh-level Grand Knight." Long Haochen shook Yue Shen's hand, then looked at the Windrider Eagle circling overhead. "Brother Yue, is that Windrider Eagle your mount?"

"No."

"Huh?" Long Haochen looked puzzled. "Then what is it?"

"A friend I made on the Knight Sacred Mountain, I suppose." Yue Shen turned and called to the Windrider Eagle, "Thanks for your help today! See you again when we get the chance."

"Screee!"

The Windrider Eagle gave a long cry, then stirred up a fierce gust and flew back the way it had come.

"The Windrider Eagle told me I could find Starshine Unicorns here. Have you seen them?" Yue Shen looked at Long Haochen. "Have you come across any?"

Long Haochen nodded and pointed to the lake beside them. "The Starshine Unicorn herd comes here to drink every day. You just need to wait here, Brother Yue. But they've already left today, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow."

"I see. What are you planning to do next?" Yue Shen asked with some concern.

Long Haochen said dejectedly, "I'll try my luck somewhere else.

"If that doesn't work, I'll have no choice but to try my luck at the teleportation formation over on the Sacred Mountain." "Then you'd better hurry." Yue Shen put away his equipment. "I'll wait here for the Starshine Unicorns. I hope you find something good."

"Yes. Thank you for your concern, Brother Yue." Long Haochen cupped his hands. "See you at the Demon Hunt Squad preliminaries in six months."

With that, Long Haochen set off.

Watching Long Haochen walk away, Yue Shen couldn't help sighing. "That kid's cheats are so much stronger than mine. If I really choose a Starshine Unicorn as my mount companion, I wonder if I'll even be able to keep him in sight someday."

After taking an empty water flask from his Storage Ring and filling it at the lake, Yue Shen found a shady place to rest. Since meditation and cultivation were forbidden within the Knight Sacred Mountain, he also had more time to think.

The next morning, Yue Shen had only just woken from a comfortable night's sleep when he heard a commotion by the nearby lake.

"Neigh!"

Sure enough, this was where the Starshine Unicorns came to drink.

After a quick wash with the lake water in his flask, Yue Shen stood up and walked toward the lake.

Not far away, a dozen or so unicorns lingered by the lakeshore, drinking.

The Starshine Unicorns were snow-white all over, with golden manes along their necks and spiraling golden horns rising from their foreheads. Each had a pair of enormous white feathered wings.

Although their size and presence impressed Yue Shen far less than Instructor Wei Ping's Blue-Winged Pegasus had, they surely had their own unique strengths to deserve their reputation as the most suitable mounts for knights.

As though sensing Yue Shen's approach, the unicorn leading the Starshine Unicorn herd raised its head and walked toward him.

"Hello, Starshine Unicorn." Yue Shen stopped and spoke plainly. "I'm a knight from the Knight Temple, and I've come here to find my companion. I wonder if I might have that opportunity."

The Starshine Unicorn king's gaze settled on Yue Shen. When he saw that Yue Shen's eyes were the same pale gold as those of the young man from yesterday, he paused in surprise.

Then the horn on his forehead shone with a rich golden light that fell upon Yue Shen. This was the Starshine Unicorns' unique way of communicating.

As the golden light shone on him, the sacred aura emanating from the Starshine Unicorn left Yue Shen feeling invigorated. They truly deserved their reputation as the most suitable mounts for knights.

"Hello." The Starshine Unicorn's voice sounded in Yue Shen's mind. "Do you also wish to choose a Starshine Unicorn as your mount companion?"

"Yes," Yue Shen replied silently. "Would you be willing to become my companion and travel this world with me?"

Just as Yue Shen had expected, the Starshine Unicorn shook his head without much hesitation after hearing his request.

"I'm very sorry. Although your light origin is immensely attractive to me, please allow me to decline your request."

The Starshine Unicorn lowered his head. "However, you may choose another unicorn from our herd as your mount companion. I suggest choosing a descendant with the bloodline of my Starshine Unicorn Royal Family. Compared with other Starshine Unicorns, they have an easier time breaking through to the ninth tier and evolving into Sacred Unicorns."
