He subsequently trains under Ye Hua at the Haoyue Branch Hall and becomes Li Xin’s sworn younger brother. His father and teacher instruct him not to casually reveal his age or spiritual power 17 25 29. Yue Shen recognizes him as the protagonist of the world he has entered 3 14.

Personality

Long Haochen treats a Guardian Knight’s obligations as personal commitments. He refuses to abandon Haoyue because of his weakness or dangerous dark constitution, continuing a blood-consuming purification ritual until his own life is threatened. His loyalty also extends to Ye Hua: he prepares to face Gui Wu despite unfavorable odds after Gui Wu insults his teacher 16 17 22.

He values fair competition over favorable conditions. When Yue Shen proposes fighting without mounts, Long Haochen refuses because excluding Sol would benefit him; he asks Yue Shen to fight at full strength instead 36.

He is protective but capable of restraint. He warns Li Xin against carrying her feud with Lin Jialu onto the battlefield, intervenes to protect Sima Xian, and allows Gui Wu to leave rather than prolonging their confrontation 25 44 45. Knight Sacred Mountain

Long Haochen enters Knight Sacred Mountain with Ye Hua to find a mount. The Starshine Unicorns reject his request out of reverence for his constitution, and no other beast answers his attempts to form a contract. When Gui Wu threatens him, Yue Shen arrives and forces Gui Wu to retreat 14 16 17 18.

His eventual selection yields an injured, dark-attribute Earth Fire Lizard, whom he names Haoyue. Because the mountain’s light array would kill Haoyue outside the cave, Long Haochen attempts to purify him with his blood. Yue Shen contributes blood after Long Haochen approaches his limit, allowing Haoyue to survive, evolve, and establish their blood pact 22 23.

Demon Hunt Squad Qualification Assessment

Long Haochen joins Li Xin, Lin Jialu, and the Chen brothers for Haoyue City’s assessment, with Yue Shen accompanying them on a separate assignment. The party must kill twenty-five demons 29 30.

He protects the group during a Luke Race ambush and later uses his Holy Guidance Spirit Furnace to anchor their fight against a fifth-tier Verdant Twin-Blade Demon. The party wins and passes the assessment, but Yue Shen’s overwhelming victory against a stronger opponent shakes Long Haochen’s confidence 31 33 35.

Aimei City Auction

After selling the demon corpse to Lin Xin, Long Haochen seeks an unusual stone ball wanted by Haoyue. Lin Jialu secures it for 10,000 gold coins on Yue Shen’s behalf, with repayment owed to Yue Shen. Long Haochen also accepts Lin Xin’s pills and conditional request to join his future squad 39 41 42.

Holy City and the Preliminaries

On the road to Holy City, Long Haochen intervenes when Gui Wu’s group attacks Sima Xian. He redirects incoming fireballs and persuades Gui Wu to withdraw, reminding him that their dispute—and the wager between Gui Ying and Ye Hua—will be settled at the tournament 44 45.

In his first preliminary match, contestant 97 defeats contestant 29, a mounted Guardian Knight, in less than a minute despite Haoyue’s absence. Han Qian then orders his information classified as a Knight Temple secret and changes his recorded age to eighteen 47 48.
