The five experts paused at the sight of the token. If the matter truly was of utmost importance, they could certainly make an exception, but they needed to establish the truth first.
"The token is genuine. It seems you really do have an urgent matter. Ye Hua, could you tell us what it is?"
"Once we understand the situation, we will let you through and place a Passage Seal on you so that you can travel swiftly and unhindered the rest of the way!"
The Temple Knight was not an unreasonable man.

With the seals in place, his journey was indeed unhindered as he passed several Branch Temples and a main city.

"Aili City is just ahead. Once we pass Aili City and go around Aimei City, we'll reach the Holy City!"
Ye Hua felt no weariness, but the Mountain-Shaking Eagle had been flying at full speed for a whole day and night.

"He's utterly disgraced me as the city lord! He violated someone's daughter and even killed her. How am I supposed to cover for him?"
"You beast! I'll kill you!"
A middle-aged man, seething with fury, pointed at a beautiful woman and cursed.
Yet the beautiful woman continued to shield a handsome young man fiercely.
The young man's face was pale as paper, and he looked rather weak. Clearly, he had indulged himself to excess.
"My lord, you're the city lord. Isn't your word law in this city? Just give that person some money. Why make things difficult for Dan'er?"
"When you were on the battlefield, Dan'er and I nearly starved to death. Now, can't you just let him do what he likes?"
The beautiful woman stared at the middle-aged man and spoke as though justice were entirely on her side.
"You-you'll be the death of me! Still refusing to repent! I'll beat both you and your son to death today!"
The middle-aged man flew into a rage and raised his hand to strike.
The woman said indignantly, "Go ahead! It wouldn't be the first time I've been beaten."
"Back then, we didn't have all this money and power. Dan'er and I were nearly beaten to death over food. And where were you? On the battlefield, with no one knowing whether you were alive or dead. Did you ever think about me and our child?"
"Hit me! Now that we have power and influence too, why can't we bully them?"
The woman challenged him again and again, finally growing angry herself and bracing for the inevitable beating.
"Ah!" In his anger, the middle-aged man sighed and lowered his hand. Then he said, "Just this once. I'll handle things this time. If it happens again, even I'll be implicated!"
Helpless, the middle-aged man knew that his service to humanity back then really had brought suffering upon his family.

The Radiant Knight of the Knight Main Hall spoke.
Most agreed to let him pass, but the city lord was still angry.
"Hmph. No matter how urgent it is, he can't behave with such impunity unless he carries urgent military intelligence!"
The city lord spoke coolly.
He belonged to the Warrior Temple. The six great Holy Temples were one family, but that was only on the surface.
The Knights had always occupied the foremost position among the Holy Temples, leaving the Magic Temple, the Warrior Temple, and the others deeply dissatisfied.
