Background / History

Otherworldly Origins and Odin Town

Yang Tian arrives inexplicably in a world he recognizes as the Holy Demon Continent. By age two, he has learned its language and begun deliberately practicing the Ten Knightly Commandments, believing that a deeper understanding of them can improve his future Sacred Awakening 1 2.

His parents were ordinary people killed by magical beasts. Raised by his grandmother in a modest home, he helps elderly neighbors, comforts children, and shares gifts rather than keeping them for himself. His early refusal to eat meat reflects his desire to avoid harming life and honor the goddesses he reveres 2 3.

Training Under Balza

At four, Yang Tian enters the Odin Sub-Temple with twelve spiritual energy. Knowing he lacks Long Haochen’s powerful family backing and cultivation resources, he pursues extra training instead of waiting through the normal three-year course. His ambition is to become a Divine Seal Knight, preferably recognized by the Divine Throne of Eternity and Creation 4 5 7.

His early attempt to replace sleep with meditation disrupts his daily routine. After his grandmother insists on staying awake with him, he promises to sleep on time and limits evening meditation to a few hours 10 11.

Yang Tian eventually begins hunting around Mount Odin, earns money for metal weapons, and rescues Long Haochen from a black wolf. Before leaving for Haoyue City, he promises to bring his grandmother there once he becomes a true knight. He also intends to return and protect Odin Town from the danger he knows it will face 13 15 16.

Haoyue Branch Hall and Sacred Awakening

Yang Tian’s examination result attracts attention, but his insistence on answering honestly exposes the false age in Balza’s paperwork. He asks that his instructor not be punished. Nalan Shu preserves the submitted records and recommends Ye Hua as his master 18 21.

At the branch hall, Yang Tian shares a dormitory with Li Xin, recognizes that she is disguising herself as a boy, and chooses the Guardian path to protect the people important to him. Ye Hua prepares him for awakening with marrow-cleansing medicinal baths 22 23 24 25.

During Sacred Awakening, the maternal figure from his meditation dreams reveals herself as the Goddess of Light. She blesses him and acknowledges his otherworldly origin. Afterward, he attends Squire theory classes while undertaking Knight-level physical training 26 27 28 29.

Purple Star Expedition and Loss of Cultivation

On an Adventurers’ Guild mission with Li Xin and Lin Jialu, Yang Tian enters the Purple Star Mountain Range and helps gather medicinal herbs for Weiwei’s grandmother. The team defeats a fourth-rank Demon-Patterned Tiger, only to be confronted by the Purple Star Three Fiends over its magic crystal 31 34.

Yang Tian kills Dong while protecting his companions, but the group’s Grand Knight overwhelms him. Reinforcements prevent his immediate death; before escaping, the attacker extracts his concentrated Light Element and cripples his cultivation 35.

Ye Hua carries him to the Holy City, sustaining injuries along the way and risking punishment for violating its flight restrictions. Cardinal Weak Water heals Yang Tian’s physical injuries, but restoring his ability to cultivate requires the Priest Temple’s reconstruction method 40 42 43 44.

Reconstruction and Holy Temple Training

Ling Xiao discovers that the incomplete Extraction Secret Art has left corrosive force inside Yang Tian. At the Spirit-Nurturing Pool, he completely dismantles the damaged cultivation foundation before rebuilding it. Yang Tian emerges with stronger innate talent, a higher physical cultivation ceiling, and Grand Knight strength 45 46.

After learning what Ye Hua endured for him, Yang Tian offers to bear his teacher’s punishment and agrees to remain at the Holy Temple. Ye Hua equips him before their separation, while Yang Haohan becomes his personal instructor. His new schedule combines morning meditation with afternoon physical training, combat, and study of both Knight branches 44 45 47 48 49.

Appearance

Yang Tian has black hair and initially black eyes. Despite his young age, training gives him a sturdy, well-developed physique; at four, his body resembles that of a six- or seven-year-old 2 5 22.

  • Golden eyes: His eyes turn pale gold during Sacred Awakening and are subsequently described as clear gold 26 27.
  • Softened musculature: Awakening removes the sharply defined appearance of his muscles without eliminating his strength 27 28.
  • Warm, refined presence: After awakening, he radiates a sunny warmth and appears almost otherworldly 28.
  • Natural fragrance: Li Xin notices a pleasant scent distinct from the fragrance of bathing products 27.

Personality

Yang Tian’s kindness begins as a purposeful effort to prepare for awakening, but repeated acts of compassion become deeply ingrained. He respects elders, shares food and cultivation fruits, and remains devoted to the grandmother who raised him. His dietary scruples are not absolute: he later accepts eggs and recognizes the meat flavor in food she has carefully prepared 2 9 10 23.

He is exceptionally diligent but impatient with slow progress. Balza orders him to halve his excessive workload, and Ye Hua later forces him to take a break. Extraordinary talent only strengthens his belief that he should work harder 8 27 30.

Socially, he is blunt, reserved, and poor at conversation. His matter-of-fact replies repeatedly frustrate Li Xin, and he struggles to comfort distressed people. Nevertheless, he acts against injustice even while weakened, intervening when several boys bully a brother and sister 20 27 29 33 44.

In battle, compassion does not prevent decisive violence. Against the Three Fiends, he accepts an injury to land a killing thrust and refuses to surrender despite being outmatched. His attitude toward the Demon Race is more measured than that of many classmates: he feels repulsion rather than overwhelming hatred 25 29 35.

Abilities & Skills

Light Affinity and Divine Blessing

The Goddess of Light directly blesses Yang Tian during his awakening. His affinity remains intact even after his cultivation is destroyed 26 43.

  • Awakens with 99.99 innate internal spiritual power, later raised to 101 through reconstruction 27 46.
  • Is recognized by Yang Haohan as humanity’s Child of Light 49.
  • Senses the goddess’s presence in sunlight and gathered Light Element after she stops appearing during meditation 29 50.
  • The goddess identifies a small flaw in his heart associated with his otherworldly origin as the reason his initial blessing is not completely perfect 27.

Meditation

Yang Tian masters the basic Knight meditation method before turning five and retains it even after entering the Holy Temple 11 50.

  • Senses, draws in, absorbs, filters, and assimilates spiritual qi or Light Element into spiritual power 10 50.
  • Enters Deep Meditation during awakening, a state described as normally accessible only to eighth-tier or higher professionals 26.
  • Initially cannot cultivate effectively at night; after awakening, he can use moonlight gathered by the dormitory’s magic array 22 28.
  • Benefits from the dense Light Element in the Holy Temple’s exclusive cultivation rooms 50.

Swordsmanship and Combat Experience

Balza praises Yang Tian’s control of basic sword movements. By seven, he has killed dozens of wild beasts and demon beasts with ordinary metal swords 6 17.

  • Uses Thrusting Sword, Chopping Sword, and Rising Sword 6.
  • Combines agility, unusual flexibility, and knowledge of beast anatomy to attack vulnerable areas 12 13.
  • Uses Rising Sword to wound the wolf threatening Long Haochen 15.
  • Cannot overcome the fourth-tier Grand Knight’s superior power and equipment during the Purple Star ambush 35.

Electric Thrust

A second-tier Squire skill that sends thin electrical arcs across his weapon 13.

  • Numbs and weakens the Scorpion-Tailed Lizard.
  • Helps him pierce its softer flank and belly.
  • Consumes substantial spiritual power, making a prolonged fight dangerous 13.

Pure White Blade

A sword skill used to reinforce his attack with white light 35.

  • Enables the thrust that kills Dong during the Three Fiends confrontation.
  • Rapidly drains spiritual power, although Yang Tian also feels his power recovering quickly during its use 35.
  • Cannot be channeled through the Black Sword 48.

Guardian Skills and Dual-Path Training

Yang Tian knows Aura of Faith, but his Guardian skill repertoire remains incomplete when Yang Haohan takes over his instruction 49.

  • Initially selects Guardian training to protect loved ones 23.
  • Has not finished learning all third-tier Guardian skills despite reaching Grand Knight 49.
  • Is assigned fourth-tier Guardian and Retribution skills before resuming hunting 49.
  • Does not possess Divine Guard Block, momentum-accumulation skills, or self-sacrifice skills during the Three Fiends battle 35.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Wooden Sword — His first sword, issued by Balza; used for basic training and early beast hunting 5 12 13.
  • Iron Sword and Fine Iron Sword — Ordinary metal weapons carried to Haoyue City. An iron sword breaks against the Three Fiends’ Grand Knight 17 35.
  • Space Bracelet — Ye Hua’s gift; stores weapons and everyday supplies through internal spiritual power. It blocks a blow during the ambush but receives a sword mark 28 35.
  • Holy Light Shield bracelet — Magic-grade equipment given by Ye Hua after reconstruction; casts Holy Light Shield 47.
  • Spirit-Magic-grade longsword and shield — Purchased by Ye Hua after Yang Tian’s recovery 47 48.
  • Black Sword — An ungraded meteoric-iron weapon bought for 1,000 gold coins. Its hardness can withstand clashes with Legendary equipment, but it has no attributes or added skills and cannot channel sword skills 48.
  • Light Soft Armor — Spirit-Magic-grade armor costing 4,000 gold coins. Provides flexible protection and a recovery skill restoring one to three spiritual-power points per second; activation also requires spiritual power 48.
  • Cultivation aids — Uses Essence Cultivation Liquid, Red Refining Fruits, and medicinal baths during his early development 4 14 15 24 25.

Relationships

  • Grandmother — His guardian and only surviving family member. He shares medicinal fruits with her, adjusts his sleep schedule for her sake, and promises to bring her to Haoyue City 3 10 15 16.
  • Balza — First instructor. Supports his unusually early admission, rewards his perseverance with meditation lessons, and accompanies him to the Haoyue examination 4 8 18.
  • Ye Hua — Master and a major protective figure. Risks his safety to seek treatment, buys his equipment, and calls him his proudest disciple; Yang Tian insists that Ye Hua will always remain his teacher 21 40 47 48.
  • Yang Haohan — Personal instructor after reconstruction. Invites Yang Tian to call him grandfather; Yang Tian addresses him as “Grandpa Yang” 49.
  • Han Qian — Holy Knight Commander who coordinates his treatment and Holy Temple support. Accepts his promise to repay the temple through diligent cultivation 40 42 45.
  • Goddess of Light — Object of his faith and source of his awakening blessing. He experiences her care as maternal and misses her visible presence after awakening 26 27 29.
  • Long Haochen — Friend rescued from a black wolf. Yang Tian also gives fruits that help Bai Yue recover and later draws Ye Hua’s attention to Haochen’s talent 15 16 47.
  • Li Xin — Dormitory roommate and adventuring companion. Their frequent blunt exchanges coexist with concern and battlefield trust; she lends him her magic longsword during the ambush 22 25 35.
  • Lin Jialu — Adventuring companion. After his injury, she declares that she would marry and support him even if he remained an ordinary person 31 38.
  • Ling Xiao — Priest Temple Master who reconstructs his cultivation and proposes developing his talent through priestly training 45 46.
  • Zi Yang — Caregiver during his Holy Temple recovery, whom he calls his big sister. They part with mutual affection; she privately keeps his last set of old clothes 43.
