Arc 2The Oran Sea Campaign

Lind established Oran Island as his base, built up the Seventh Division, and led his forces through a campaign to take control of the Oran Sea. After Shiki and Rocks attacked Marine Headquarters, Lind focused on strengthening his territory and preparing his elite fighters for the coming battle at God Valley.

  • Lind welcomed Oran Island’s factions, declared the island his base, and arranged agreements while his officers took charge of negotiations.
  • Lind exchanged Vice Admirals Rock Wolf and Tanuki for Devil Fruits, then gave fruits to his officers and organized a tournament to reward strong fighters.
  • Lind discovered Flower Country’s hidden treasure, claimed the White Tiger Fruit and Demon Blade Tiger Soul, and broke through to become a Swordsman.
  • Lind expanded and trained his forces, established the Dragon Banana plantations, and recruited Zhang Yang and Alan to develop the island’s hotel and school.
  • Lind and Whitebeard led the campaign against the Marines while their captains cleared pirate strongholds, and Lind fought Zephyr for more than ten hours.
  • Rocks and Shiki attacked Marine Headquarters, where they killed three Admiral-level fighters before retreating when the Five Elders arrived.
  • Lind took control of the Oran Sea’s islands, expanded recruitment, and organized the strongest applicants into the Kunpeng Squad.
  • Lind commissioned Master Lin Yong to build the Temple of Heaven, appointed Zhang Liang as the Kunpeng Squad’s adjutant, and completed the temple’s remaining work with telekinesis.
Chapters 26–50 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 26The banquet

Lind hosted a banquet to introduce himself and establish his position as the new power on Oran Island. The factions accepted his officers’ conditions, and the banquet ended successfully, though Lind was disappointed that Allison and Liana scared away every woman who tried to approach him.

  • Allison told Lind that the banquet venue was ready and that factions across Oran Port had been invited, and he promised his staff bottles of Angel's Heart as a reward.
  • Lind dressed for the banquet and left with Allison, Liana, and his officers, praising Larry for helping prepare the group.
  • Lind welcomed the faction representatives, announced that Oran Island would become his base, and said its existing systems would remain unchanged.
  • Lind warned the guests not to challenge him, reminding them that he had defeated Zephyr and captured two Marine Vice Admirals and three Marine warships.
  • Larry handled the negotiations, and Lind sensed that the factions accepted the conditions his officers proposed.
  • The banquet ended successfully, but Lind went home disappointed because Allison and Liana had driven away every woman who tried to speak with him.

Ch. 27Vice Admiral Tanuki

Lind visited the captured Marines in Oran Island’s underground prison and teased Vice Admiral Tanuki about her captivity. He left after joking that he would soon move her to his villa under house arrest.

  • Lind asked Allison about the captured Marines and instructed her to rotate the prison guards and recruit outsiders for routine patrols.
  • Allison flirted with Lind on the way to the prison, leaving him embarrassed and less eager to visit Tanuki.
  • Lind told Vice Admiral Tanuki that her subordinates would soon be released after he negotiated their ransom with Kong, while she, Rock Wolf, and Hill would remain imprisoned.
  • Lind used telekinesis to pull Tanuki toward the bars and theatrically threatened to keep her under close watch, then explained to Allison that he was only imitating a villain.
  • Lind briefly checked on the other Marines and teased Tanuki again as he left, saying he would move her to his villa under house arrest.

Ch. 28An Incognito Visit (Part One)

Lind and Allison toured Oran Port incognito while Larry and the other officers worked to secure the island's factions. Their uneventful morning ended at a restaurant, where someone asked Allison if her boss was from Flower Country.

  • Lind assigned Larry to lead the cooperation agreements with Oran Island's factions, with Axel and the other officers assisting.
  • Lind asked Allison to explore Oran Port with him, and Great Kun joined them in his original form.
  • Lind and Allison wandered through the orderly streets without encountering any serious incidents.
  • Lind took Allison and Great Kun to a restaurant for lunch so he could listen for useful information.
  • After Lind arranged a private room, someone asked Allison whether her boss was from Flower Country.

Ch. 29An Incognito Inspection (Part Two)

Lind met Zhang Yang, the strong owner and head chef of a popular Oran Port restaurant, and arranged for him to teach Lind’s chefs. After ending his inspection, Lind considered how to develop Oran Island and realized he needed expert help.

  • Lind praised Zhang Yang’s cooking and asked the restaurant server whether he could meet the owner.
  • Zhang Yang introduced himself to Lind, joined the meal, and agreed to teach Lind’s chefs.
  • Lind listened to the restaurant’s customers and concluded that Larry and the island’s factions had kept Oran Island prosperous and orderly.
  • Lind decided to explore gradual economic and technological development for Oran Island, with help from his officers and an economic expert.
  • Lind worried that his administrators lacked the expertise to modernize the island and considered abducting economic and political prisoners to help.

Ch. 30Taking control of Oran Island

Lind assigned his officers to take control of the remaining cities on Oran Island while he prepared to meet Zephyr about ransoming two captured Marines. He rejected Zephyr’s offer by demanding two valuable Devil Fruits and left the ransom unresolved.

  • Lind rewarded his officers and assigned Axel, Liana, Rex, Phil, and Kite to take over Oran Island’s four remaining cities, while Calvin guarded the prison and Larry stayed in Oran Port.
  • The next morning, Lind’s officers and squads departed for their targets as Lind waited for news and read a swordsmanship manual.
  • Zephyr contacted Lind to say he was nearing Oran Island and reminded him of their agreement.
  • Lind met Zephyr at the port and demanded two valuable Devil Fruits in exchange for Vice Admirals Rock Wolf and Tanuki.
  • Zephyr protested that the Marines would not pay so much, but Lind refused to negotiate and left with Allison and Calvin.

Ch. 31Expanding the ranks

Lind’s forces took control of Oran Island without resistance, and he began expanding the Seventh Division by recruiting and training new members. Zephyr’s failed rescue attempt left Rock Wolf and Tanuki in Lind’s custody, while Lind set his sights on building an army and investing in Morgans’s newspaper business.

  • Vice Admiral Fukurou told Zephyr he could not rescue Vice Admiral Rock Wolf and Vice Admiral Tanuki from Lind’s control, so Zephyr decided to wait for Lind to leave Oran Island.
  • Lind moved Rock Wolf and Tanuki from prison to house arrest at his base, and Allison reported that the island’s other cities had surrendered without a fight.
  • Lind rewarded his forces, promoted Phil and Kite to officers, and ordered the original squads expanded while five new squads were formed.
  • Lind set a three-month plan to recruit thousands of ordinary pirates, train the new forces, and use an uninhabited island’s plants and Sea King meat to prepare an army.
  • The captains began recruiting across Oran Island, while Lind arranged newspaper announcements and considered finding Morgans to invest in his business.

Ch. 32New Devil Fruits

After receiving three Devil Fruits as ransom for two Marine Vice Admirals, Lind considered how to distribute his growing collection and let his officers choose first. Axel chose the Steel-Steel Fruit, and Lind invited Allison to make the next choice.

  • Lind received the Steel-Steel Fruit, the Dog-Dog Fruit, Bully Dog Form, and the Cat-Cat Fruit, Maine Coon Form, from the Marines in exchange for releasing two Vice Admirals.
  • Lind reviewed the seven Devil Fruits he had gathered and decided to let Axel and the other officers choose before offering remaining fruits as tournament prizes.
  • Lind called Axel, Allison, four other original officers, and Larry to his room and explained that choosing a fruit was voluntary.
  • Axel immediately chose the Steel-Steel Fruit, thanked Lind, and pledged his life to him.
  • Lind encouraged Axel to eat the fruit and then told Allison to choose next.

Ch. 33Distributing the Devil Fruits

Lind distributed Devil Fruits and weapons to his officers, then planned to expand Dragon Banana production to strengthen his forces. He decided Allison’s management skills and new Grow-Grow Fruit would make her the right person to oversee the plantations.

  • Allison chose the Grow-Grow Fruit, while Calvin took the Titan Python Fruit and Rex took the Silverback Gorilla Fruit; Larry declined the remaining Zoans.
  • Lind gave Liana the Wave-Slasher sword and Water Shot pistol, then promised Larry a suitable Paramecia later.
  • Lind set aside three standard Zoan Fruits as prizes for the top contestants in the tournament half a month later.
  • Lind planned to grow Dragon Bananas on Oran Island and distribute different generations among his officers, elite pirates, and ordinary pirates.
  • Allison came to Lind’s room, and Lind decided to ask her to organize the banana plantations.

Ch. 34The banana plantation

Lind assigned Allison to oversee the Dragon Banana plantation on Oran Island and develop her Grow-Grow Fruit ability. After visiting the vast plantation, he began planting and planned to build facilities there so Allison could stay with him while helping research fruits.

  • Lind told Allison to oversee the banana plantation, separate the Dragon Banana generations, and use her ability to help grow them.
  • Lind urged Allison and the Seventh Division's fighters to delegate administrative work so they could focus on training.
  • The next afternoon, Lind, Allison, and Liana visited the newly cleared plantation covering over ten thousand hectares west of Oran Port.
  • Lind planted the first banana tree and told Allison to grow Second Generation bananas for seeds while the plantation mainly planted Third Generation bananas.
  • Allison agreed to stay at Lind's future manor and help with his research, and Lind used his Telekinesis to search for places to build plantation facilities.

Ch. 35Self-reflection

Lind grew frustrated that his Mutation Fruit had stopped producing worthwhile crops and began to recognize how his rapid rise in power had distorted his expectations. After Allison helped him see his restlessness from the outside, he resolved to pursue steady progress and invited her and Liana for a stroll.

  • Lind continued farming with Allison and Liana while his Mutation Fruit repeatedly failed to produce valuable staple crops.
  • Lind grew impatient with his slower progress and wondered whether expanding his territory or improving his luck might bring better results.
  • Allison told Liana that Lind was likely restless because his strength had once grown so quickly and now improved more slowly.
  • Lind overheard Allison's explanation, reflected on the dangers of relying on shortcuts to power, and felt grateful for her insight.
  • Lind approached Allison and Liana, asked how they were doing, and invited them to go for a stroll.

Ch. 36Treasure hunting

Lind took Allison and Liana treasure hunting at the site marked on Ochoku’s Treasure Map, where his telekinesis uncovered two buried chambers. After they found a hoard of gold and jewels, Lind discovered an inscription explaining that a high priest of Flower Country had hidden the treasures to protect them from the Outer-Realm Barbarians.

  • Lind took Allison and Liana flying on swords toward the island marked on Ochoku’s Treasure Map.
  • Lind searched the island with telekinesis and found two treasure chambers buried deep underground.
  • Lind dug a shaft to the first chamber, where Allison and Liana chose treasures from a hoard of gold, silver, and jewels.
  • Lind and the women entered the second chamber and found a chest and writing carved into the walls.
  • Lind read that Flower Country’s high priest had hidden the country’s treasures underground to protect them from the Outer-Realm Barbarians.

Ch. 37The White Tiger Fruit and the Demon Blade Tiger Soul

Lind uncovered the White Tiger Fruit and Demon Blade Tiger Soul, then used an emotional swordsmanship practice session to break through to Swordsman and master Conqueror’s Coating. He left the shore confident that his strength could help him control the seas around him.

  • Lind opened the treasure chest and found the White Tiger Fruit and Demon Blade Tiger Soul, secret treasures of the Flower Country.
  • Lind decided his unborn child with Charlotte Linlin should inherit the White Tiger Fruit and worried about how to repay Ochoku for the Treasure Map.
  • Lind returned to Oran Island, stored the treasures in a safe, and went to practice swordsmanship by the sea.
  • Lind recalled the Iron-Cutting techniques and broke through to become a Swordsman, unleashing a Flying Slash with Kunpeng.
  • Lind’s Conqueror’s Haki erupted as he imagined competing for the title of World’s Greatest Swordsman, and he then mastered Conqueror’s Coating.
  • Lind assessed that he could now hold off Zephyr for a day without drugs and keep the surrounding sea under control.

Ch. 38The Martial Tournament and Promotion System

Lind held a martial tournament to reward his pirates and establish the Seventh Division’s elite squads, then set out the division’s promotion and training system. The tournament ended with Holt choosing to form a new squad, and Lind’s forces continued expanding under the new structure.

  • Lind held a no-kill free-for-all preliminary round followed by one-on-one matches, awarding Tiger Soul Wine and three Devil Fruits to the winners.
  • Phil and Kite showed strength comparable to Marine Rear Admirals, while Holt of the Seventh Division placed third and received a pair of Wolf Claws forged by Lind.
  • Lind offered Holt the choice of forming his own squad or becoming Axel’s deputy, and Holt chose to build a squad with his old companions.
  • Holt asked Lind to let him recruit friends he had made during training on Oran Island, and Lind approved the formation of the Eleventh Squad.
  • Lind established the division’s promotion system, assigning most new pirates to regular troops before selecting outstanding fighters for elite squads or the Security Force.

Ch. 39Farming and Training

After the tournament, Lind expanded the Plantation’s Dragon Banana crop, developed a way to prevent valuable seeds from reproducing, and trained his elite pirates. The chapter left Allison managing the Plantation while Lind’s eleven elite squads grew stronger and ordinary pirates fell behind.

  • Lind and Allison cultivated enough Dragon Banana seeds to plant more than ten thousand hectares, using second-generation seeds gathered from the island where Lind had first arrived.
  • Lind relied on hired farmers to tend the groves and let Allison grow a batch of third-generation Dragon Bananas for the elite squads.
  • Lind and Allison developed seed treatment that prevented treated seeds from reproducing, leaving Allison responsible for producing seeds with her Grow-Grow Fruit.
  • Lind spent most of his time training the eleven elite squads and used a favor from Zhang Yang to obtain recipes that improved physical conditioning.
  • With Lind’s support, the elite squads improved greatly, while ordinary pirates who had not joined them fell behind.

Ch. 40Oran Hotel and Oran Elementary School

Lind welcomed Zhang Yang and Alan, who agreed to help establish Oran Hotel and Oran Elementary School. After planning both ventures, Lind left the school’s teacher recruitment to Alan and looked forward to meeting an architect recommended by Zhang Yang.

  • Lind learned that Zhang Yang and Alan had arrived and went to greet them.
  • Zhang Yang and Alan accepted Lind’s invitations to take charge of Oran Hotel and Oran Elementary School.
  • Lind, Zhang Yang, and Alan spent the day discussing plans for the hotel and school.
  • Lind asked Alan to recruit teachers for Oran Elementary School and then checked on his men’s training.
  • On the way back to his farm manor, Lind thought about meeting the master architect Zhang Yang had recommended.

Ch. 41The final preparations (part one)

Lind prepared to conquer the waters beyond Oran Island, building up his forces and arranging for Whitebeard and Golden Lion to counter the Marines’ strongest fighters. With a week remaining before the war, he was confident his army could defeat the local powers unless the Marines committed their full strength.

  • Lind left Zhang Yang and Alan to develop the Aolan Hotel and Oran Elementary School while he focused on preparing for war.
  • After two and a half months of training, Lind inspected his disciplined forces and praised their progress to Whitebeard.
  • Holt’s former crew trained hard, and thirty members became elite pirates, allowing his Eleventh Division to catch up with the other squads.
  • Lind asked Whitebeard to handle Sengoku and Garp if they appeared, and arranged for Golden Lion to tie down another Admiral-level fighter.
  • Lind assessed his captains, officers, and allied fighters and concluded that his forces would win unless the Marines joined with the local pirates or deployed their full strength.

Ch. 42Final preparations (part two)

Lind assembled a powerful fleet and prepared to seize control of the Oran Sea while confronting the Marines. He departed with Whitebeard aboard the Wanderer, assigned his captains to clear the surrounding waters, and focused his own force on the coming Marine battle.

  • Lind's punishing training helped his strongest subordinates break through their limits, leaving him with more than thirty officer-level fighters.
  • On June 1, 1480, Lind and Whitebeard arrived at Oran Island's harbor as hundreds of warships prepared to sail.
  • Whitebeard accepted Lind's invitation to travel aboard the Wanderer and agreed to face Sengoku if he appeared.
  • Lind split his captains into three forces, sending Axel, Phil, and Ford east and Calvin, Rex, and Kite west while he and five others went to confront the Marines.
  • Lind ordered the two clearing forces to target the pirates occupying the islands and to call for help rather than risk their lives.
  • Lind recognized that defeating the Marines was essential to controlling the Oran Sea, even if his other forces won their battles.

Ch. 43Axel's moment of glory

Axel led the eastern fleet to Demon Peak Town, where he defeated Blood Sword Shalt and the Seventh Division wiped out the pirates. He split his forces to clear the remaining targets and planned to reunite at Demon Peak Town before supporting Lind.

  • Axel arrived at Demon Peak Town with the eastern fleet and announced his arrival to the pirates gathered there.
  • Blood Sword Shalt and the other pirates mocked Axel, but Axel cut through Shalt’s sword and overpowered him with his heated twin blades.
  • Axel ordered the Seventh Division to kill, and its members wiped out the pirates in Demon Peak Town in less than an hour.
  • Axel told Phil and Ford to divide their forces, clear the remaining targets, and regroup at Demon Peak Town before supporting Lind.
  • The fleet split into three groups and sailed off in different directions.

Ch. 44Facing Zephyr again

Calvin, Rex, and Kite cleared the last major pirate stronghold, while Lind and Whitebeard faced Sengoku and Zephyr’s Marine fleet. Lind’s new telekinetic techniques and swordsmanship let him threaten Zephyr, but both aerial duels ended in a stalemate.

  • Calvin, Rex, and Kite defeated the pirates gathered at the final major stronghold, then Rex stayed behind while Calvin and Kite went to support Lind.
  • Lind and Whitebeard encountered the Marine fleet led by Sengoku and Zephyr, and the four fighters took to the air to battle.
  • Whitebeard fought Sengoku while Lind fought Zephyr, and Lind’s improved telekinesis helped him keep pace with his opponent.
  • Kunpeng and Autumn struck Zephyr and wounded him for the first time, while Whitebeard and Sengoku’s powerful clash forced Lind and Zephyr to move away.
  • Lind drew the Kunpeng Sword and fought Zephyr with his blades, gaining an advantage as both battles settled into stalemates.

Ch. 45Shiki raided their home base

Shiki raided Marine Headquarters while Lind fought the Marines, but the ambush turned into a clash with the World Government’s hidden forces. Rocks killed Cipher Pol chief Zero, and Shiki recovered with Lind’s Angel’s Heart as the fight shifted to five against three.

  • Shiki attacked Marineford with his Flying Fleet, knocked out Marines with Conqueror’s Haki, and dropped islands that Kong and other officers destroyed.
  • Shiki and his pirates fought the undermanned Marines while Shiki battled Kong and used the Float-Float Fruit to damage Marineford.
  • Zero, Blade, and Griffin Lylett appeared and struck Shiki with a surprise attack, leaving him severely injured.
  • Rocks appeared behind Zero, used his ability to drain his strength, and killed him before he could finish speaking.
  • Rocks summoned John, Ochoku, and Silver Axe, while Shiki stood up again with Lind’s Angel’s Heart and declared they had five fighters against three.

Ch. 46Rocks's Might

Rocks led the assault on Marineford, where the Rocks Pirates killed Lylett and Blade before the Five Elders arrived. Rocks ordered a retreat, leaving Kong alive and the World Government facing the loss of three top-tier fighters.

  • Rocks backed Shiki's attack on Marine Headquarters as the Rocks Pirates launched their assault against Kong, Blade, and Lylett.
  • Rocks used the Dark-Dark Fruit to expose Lylett's weakness, and Silver Axe finished him off by beheading him.
  • Rocks joined John, Ochoku, and Silver Axe in attacking Blade, who was killed after a little over ten minutes.
  • Silver Axe joined Shiki in attacking Kong, leaving Kong on the verge of death until the Five Elders arrived together.
  • Rocks called off the attack and ordered Shiki to retreat; the Five Elders let the pirates leave while considering the consequences of losing three Admiral-level fighters.

Ch. 47The Marines withdrew

Lind held off the Marines in the Oran Sea until Sengoku ordered a retreat, believing the pirates there had already been defeated. Afterward, he learned that Shiki and Rocks had attacked Marine Headquarters and killed three Admiral-level fighters, prompting Lind to resolve to stay in the Oran Sea and build up his strength.

  • Lind fought Zephyr for more than ten hours, developing his advanced armament Haki and using potions to maintain the stalemate.
  • Sengoku received a message from his adjutant and ordered the Marines to withdraw, while Lind mistook the retreat for a response to the pirates being cleared from the Oran Sea.
  • Lind returned to his ship and told Allison to call off the reinforcements and have them return to Oran Island after finishing their assignments.
  • Garp hurried back to G-1 Base, and Charlotte Linlin, Lind, and Whitebeard later learned that Shiki and Rocks had attacked Marine Headquarters and killed three Admiral-level fighters.
  • Lind was stunned by the news and decided to remain in the Oran Sea and focus on strengthening his territory.

Ch. 48The Curtain Fell

After the battle, Lind consolidated control of the Oran Sea and planned to use its people and resources to strengthen the Seventh Division rather than govern every island directly. He began a new recruitment drive focused on ordinary residents and humane standards.

  • Lind sent his officers to take over the Oran Sea’s islands and station guards on key ones.
  • Lind planned to bring the kingdoms under his control gradually, using force against bad rulers and negotiation with good ones.
  • Lind decided to use the Oran Sea’s resources to expand the Seventh Division and build its industries before attempting direct administration.
  • Seven days later, Arx and the others had secured the Oran Sea, and Lind announced a recruitment plan for at least fifty thousand people.
  • Lind instructed his officers to prioritize recruit quality and discard recruits who had lost all humanity.

Ch. 49New Bounties

Lind expanded the Seventh Division and began selecting a hundred elite pirates for the Kunpeng Squad through a week-long survival contest on Beast Island. The Marines and World Government then issued new Rocks Pirates bounties, with Lind's bounty rising to 1.32 billion Beli and his division's combined total surpassing the others.

  • Lind expanded the Seventh Division's ranks and planned a super-elite Kunpeng Squad made up of the hundred strongest eligible pirates.
  • Lind sent the applicants to Beast Island for a seven-day contest in which they would collect black tokens, earn points, and avoid elimination.
  • Lind watched over the contest from the Wanderer, prepared to rescue participants in danger.
  • After more than ten days of deliberation, the Marines announced new bounties for the Rocks Pirates, including 2.9 billion Beli for Rocks D. Zebek and 1.32 billion Beli for Hirt Lind.
  • The Marines also raised the bounties of Lind's officers, bringing his division's combined bounty total to an overwhelming lead among the seven Rocks divisions.

Ch. 50The Kunpeng Squad

Lind completed the Kunpeng Squad selection trials and established the squad as his personal guard aboard the Wanderer. After appointing Zhang Liang as its adjutant, he hurried to finish the Temple of Heaven, hoping to gather fortune for his Mutation Fruits.

  • Lind reflected on his own weakness and planned to strengthen his officers before the battle at God Valley.
  • Master Lin Yong arrived, and Lind commissioned him to build a Temple of Heaven south of Oran Port.
  • The Kunpeng Squad trials ended with the hundred strongest participants joining the squad, and Lind brought them back to Oran Island aboard the Wanderer.
  • Lind appointed Zhang Liang as the Kunpeng Squad's adjutant and gave the squad two days to rest and settle into its headquarters.
  • Lind used his telekinesis to finish the Temple of Heaven's remaining details and clear away the construction debris in half a day.
