Feeling as though he had experienced something terrible, Shanks looked at Beckman beside him and asked curiously.
Beckman slowly exhaled a smoke ring, then placed a Visual Den Den Mushi in front of Shanks and pressed the switch on its shell.
The previously lethargic Visual Den Den Mushi immediately perked up, widening its eyes and projecting light from them onto a distant wall.
The picture shook violently at first, and Uta and a few kittens could be faintly heard muttering, but it soon steadied, focusing on Shanks as he accepted the Sake Dish from Suika Meow.
As that scene appeared, Shanks gradually remembered what had happened before he lost consciousness.
Sure enough, what followed was exactly the same as the future Shanks had foreseen with his Observation Haki. After drinking that bowl of "medicinal liquor," he immediately clutched his throat, rolled his eyes back, and fell stiffly to the ground.
After falling, Shanks rolled back and forth a few times, then began convulsing as though electrocuted, white foam constantly bubbling from his mouth like a crab's. Finally, after a scream in a completely distorted voice, his head lolled to one side, and he stopped moving entirely.

Amid the Red Hair Pirates' panicked rush toward him and their overlapping cries, Shanks also heard Xie Wen's gloating voice.

Before Xie Wen had even finished speaking, the picture on the wall abruptly went black, and the recording ended.
