"Did you really just leave Luffy with Kaido?"
On the way back, Xie Wen asked Dragon in some bewilderment.
Although Xie Wen also wanted to see how far Teacher Kaido could train Luffy a few years ahead of schedule, he hadn't expected Dragon to take such a completely hands-off approach and simply let Luffy stay in Totto Land.
Dragon's lips curved slightly. "I talked to Luffy and told him about the risks involved. He chose to stay with Kaido of his own free will... Of course I'm still worried, but since this was Luffy's own choice, I have no reason to stand in the way of a man's determination to grow stronger."
Well... that certainly was consistent with Dragon's usual "parenting" style.
Xie Wen shrugged. Since Dragon, his father, had said as much, he naturally had no objections.
People in the One Piece world were tough to kill, anyway... except for a certain unfortunate little girl who had been killed by the "Supreme Grand Staircase."
Besides, they were allies now, at least. Kaido would probably go easy on him... right?
Even if he forgot to hold back, it wouldn't matter. Not only did Luffy have his protagonist's plot armor protecting him, but Xie Wen had also left Nami and Chopper plenty of healing potions. He probably wouldn't die.
Putting Luffy's situation aside, Xie Wen took out his Den Den Mushi and called Stussy. He had promised earlier to take her to meet Edison.
As a CP Agent still "undercover," Stussy had always enjoyed considerable freedom of movement. After selectively passing intelligence from the Tea Party back to the World Government, she had been waiting for Xie Wen's call. She hadn't even gone far, staying on a small island not far from Totto Land, so Xie Wen could pick her up
