For the next half month, Gerald's life returned to normal.
Every day, apart from cultivating, he made Flying Letter Notebooks with his roommates, rushing to fill the Ministry of Magic's order.
During that time, he also told Lupin about the Death Eaters' frequent activities. Lupin looked a little surprised at the time.
But he did not ask where the information had come from, sparing Gerald a great deal of explaining.
Then, after a Defence Against Dark Magic lesson in mid-January, Black stopped Gerald.
"Gerald, stay behind for a moment. I have something to tell you."
"All right, Professor." Gerald stopped and put his bag back on the desk.
Before leaving, Fred glanced back at him with an intensely nosy look.
"What's Professor Black keeping you behind for? Don't tell me he's going to fight you again?" He could not hide the excitement in his eyes as he spoke.
"No idea. Probably not." Gerald waved him off.
After Fred, George, Lee Jordan, and Kenneth left the classroom, they did not go away. The four of them lurked outside the door, their ears almost pressed against it.
Black glanced toward the doorway, gave a slight twist of his lips, and waved his hand, casting Muffliato directly outside the door.
Fred and the others immediately heard buzzing in their ears, as though a swarm of bees had nested in their ear canals. As for the conversation inside the classroom, they could not hear a single word.
"I have to say, our Gryffindor students can be quite a nuisance sometimes." Black shook his head with a smile, then changed the subject. "Lupin told me you wanted to learn to become an Animagus?"
"Yes, Professor. Can you teach me?" Gerald did not beat around the bush.
This did come as a surprise to Gerald, though.
