Crack.
The two figures twisted and vanished, leaving Barty Crouch Sr. standing blankly in the yard, muttering incessantly, "Yes, tell Dumbledore. Once he defeats Fudge and becomes the new minister... perhaps he'll recognize my contribution and transfer me back to a position with real authority... even if I have to start at the bottom, I'm confident I can climb back up in the shortest time possible... that's right, that's right, tell Dumbledore."

Edward and Audrey Apparated into an empty house nearby and restored Winky, the House-elf who had been turned into a stick, to her original form.

"We don't want to harm your master, Winky. We need your help taking us to Azkaban. Your young master might be there, and we're going to rescue him."
"Liars! Lies! Nonsense!"
Winky's voice grew increasingly shrill, her two large eyes bulging farther and farther out.
"Winky will never betray her master! Let Winky go back at once!"
Winky glared at Audrey and shouted, picking up things at her feet to throw at her.
Lilith, who had just emerged from the Leather Pouch, rubbed her ears and looked at Edward. "Edward, she's so noisy!"
"Out of Body."
Edward used the Imperius Curse on her, and she finally quieted down.
Audrey sighed. "Psychological Suggestion doesn't work on her at all."
"Mm, that's why I've always suspected that this servility rooted in House-elves' souls might very well be some ancient, powerful magic, or a curse."
"All right, Winky. Take us by Apparition to a safe place as close to Azkaban as possible."
A smile appeared on Winky's face. "All right."
