"Oh, Lilith."
Her expression softened for an instant, then immediately tightened again. "Sorry, those first-years are causing trouble again. I have to deal with it right away."
With that, she hurried off, shouting sternly, "Harry Potter! How dare you!"
Her rapid barrage of furious shouts left Harry deathly pale, convinced he would be expelled this time, while Malfoy laughed gleefully at his misfortune.
Once Professor McGonagall had led the quail-like Harry away, Malfoy loudly boasted to the others about how brilliantly he had flown and how Harry Potter had nearly wet himself in midair-until he spotted Audrey standing in the distance.
His expression went through several changes in quick succession, and he actually approached her on his own. He raised his chin, trying his best to maintain his aristocratic bearing. "I heard you went on an exchange to another wizarding school? You didn't disgrace our pure-blood families, did you?"
Audrey smiled. "Something like that. It looks like you've been doing quite well while I was away, young Master Malfoy."
He immediately shrank back a little, saying warily, "I haven't done anything to you this time."
"I wasn't planning to do anything to you either. How's that task I gave you before I left coming along?"
Malfoy looked thoroughly displeased. "What do you mean, gave me a task... I was only... helping you out of interest. I'm warning you, if you're rude to me again, I'll have Father get you expelled."
"Really?"
The White Bone Wand appeared in Audrey's hand. "I didn't quite catch that. Would you say it again?"
"..."
Malfoy took two steps back, his cheeks flushing scarlet. Through gritted teeth, he said, "I found a lead. Fifty-one years ago..."
Before he could finish, Madam Hooch returned and shouted:
"Malfoy, what are you doing over there? Get back here!"
