Ron discovered that the potion Harry had given him actually had no effect on Lavender's wound, and immediately called out another warning.

On the other side, Professor Vector had discovered the same problem.

Unlike Professor Vector, however, Lavender had been held in Ron's arms after being injured and had done nothing.

Professor Vector had kept fighting after being wounded. As a result, her condition was far worse than Lavender's.

By now, her entire thigh had turned gray, and the blood flowing from the wound had turned gray as well.

Professor McGonagall noticed Professor Vector's condition and immediately shouted, "Poppy, treat Satima, quickly! There's something wrong with the wounds these things inflict. Everyone else, be careful not to get hurt!"

But how could they avoid injury simply because they were told to?

Of those hundreds of Inferi, Harry had burned dozens to death, and various other spells had blasted apart dozens more, but over two hundred still charged onto the Quidditch pitch. They began surrounding and attacking the Hogwarts group.

Almost in the blink of an eye, Madam Hooch, Professor Sinistra, and Cedric were injured one after another.

Madam Pomfrey was not skilled at fighting. Lupin and Professor Flitwick protected her off to one side, but for the moment, she could not get over to examine the others' wounds.

"What the hell, this is so bloody annoying!" Harry cursed. Black wings snapped open behind him, and he soared into the air with Qiu in his arms. He dared not fly too high, because Voldemort and Dumbledore were still locked in fierce combat overhead.

If he got too close, even a little spillover from either man's magic would be difficult to handle.

Once he reached the height of the towers, Harry asked Qiu to cover him, then began rapidly chanting an incantation.
