The culprit’s exposure brought Harry praise, while Tom Riddle remained active at Hogwarts and the students prepared for Christmas and the Quidditch season.

• Hermione planned a Polyjuice Potion plot to question Draco Malfoy, while Harry helped Gryffindor win Quidditch matches and learned that Dobby had tampered with a Bludger to drive him from Hogwarts.
• At the reopened Duelling Club, Harry spoke Parseltongue to Draco’s summoned snake, prompting students to suspect that he was Slytherin’s heir.
