"Yes, Master!"

Wang Yang answered firmly after leaving the Mirror Dimension.

Wong turned and left, his emotions tangled. The boy mastered whatever he taught him. His talent was downright monstrous.

He would probably have to worry about what to teach Wang Yang from now on.

Even Wong, whose resolve had always been unshakable, looked utterly dejected.

At that moment, even the magic books he had once found so fascinating lost their appeal.

"Wong, what's wrong? Did someone break your heart?"

Just then, a thin old man with a goatee approached and looked at Wong curiously.

The old man had watched Wong along the way, but he had never seen that expression on his face before.

His left hand was nothing but a bare stump at the wrist, clearly severed clean off.

"Wong? What's the matter with you?"

When Wong still did not speak, the old man frowned.

Wong had always been a man of few words, but he had never been like this. Naturally, the old man was curious.

"Master Hamir, I'm fine!"

Only after Hamir called him twice did Wong come to his senses and shake his head halfheartedly.

Master Hamir was also a Master of the Mystic Arts at Kamar-Taj, though unlike the others, he was not suited to combat.

He spent most of each day reading magic books and researching spells.

He had even read most of the books in the library.

"Really?"

Hamir gave Wong a strange look. He had never seen him wear that expression before.

Wong lifted his head slightly. "Of course I'm fine. What did you need me for, Master Hamir?"

"What else would I need you for? I've discovered another new spell. Would you be interested in helping me refine it?"

Hamir looked at Wong expectantly.

Wong raised his eyes, only to look utterly uninterested.

"I'm not interested. I'm heading back!"

Wong turned and walked away.

Hamir frowned at Wong's retreating figure. Wong had always enjoyed researching magic before. Now he wasn't interested?

"What could have shaken Wong up like this?"

Hamir was surprised. In the past, whether Wong cared about a spell or not, he would never turn him down. Yet now he had refused.

He hurried after him.

"Wong, what's really wrong?"

Hamir asked with a frown.

"Nothing!"

Wong frowned. "How long did it take you to learn the Rings of Raggadorr?"

Wong suddenly seemed to remember something and asked the question. Though surprised, Hamir thought for a moment before answering, "Well, let me think. A little over a year, I believe!"

Hamir was quite confident about that time.

"At Kamar-Taj, aside from Kaecilius, I doubt anyone learned it faster than I did!"

Indeed, at Kamar-Taj, leaving out the Sorcerer Supreme, The Ancient One, that was true.

When it came to talent for learning the Rings of Raggadorr, few could match his speed.

"That might have been true before, but not necessarily now!"

Seeing how confident Hamir was, Wong could not resist taking him down a peg.

In the past, Wong might genuinely have thought Hamir was talented. But after witnessing Wang Yang's talent, he felt that all of them, Masters of the Mystic Arts included, were far too weak.

Their talent, in particular, which they took such pride in, could not even begin to compare with Wang Yang's.

"What do you mean? Wong, has someone else at Kamar-Taj surpassed my talent for magic?"

Hamir frowned slightly, surprised. Had someone actually surpassed him?

Before Kaecilius came to Kamar-Taj, his talent for certain spells had stood above that of the other Masters of the Mystic Arts.

Even Mordo could not match him.

Of course, while he was gifted at magic, he had little talent for combat.

He was a Master of the Mystic Arts.

But in a fight, he might not even measure up to some ordinary sorcerers.

That was why he generally researched magic and rarely took part in combat.

When it came to magic, he was extremely confident.

"That's right. Better than you, and by more than a little!"

Wong figured that if he was feeling miserable, everyone might as well feel miserable together.

"Oh?"

Hearing that, Hamir grew even more interested. "When did such an extraordinary prodigy appear at Kamar-Taj? How long did it take him to learn the Rings of Raggadorr?"

'Prodigy' doesn't even begin to describe him!"

Wong shook his head with a bitter smile, then continued, "It took him less than two hours to learn the Rings of Raggadorr!"

Hamir stared at Wong in shock. "Impossible! That's absolutely impossible!"

"How could anyone learn that spell in half an hour?"

"No one in recorded history has ever done it!"

Hamir could not believe it. Even after all his years of studying magic, he believed that if he were given the chance to start over, he still could not master that spell in such a short time.

"What if it's true?"

Wong sighed.

Hamir frowned at Wong. Was this why Wong looked so despondent?

"If it's true, then this person is destined to become the strongest at Kamar-Taj. Even the Sorcerer Supreme might not be able to match him!"

"Perhaps he truly deserves to be called our greatest prodigy!"

Hamir said with a frown.

Wong could not help pondering that. Indeed, what else could someone like that be but their greatest prodigy?

"Wong, judging by your reaction, is this person an apprentice?"

Hamir looked at Wong in shock, finding it hard to imagine. Did someone like that really exist?

"That's right. I've been teaching him for a few days, and just a few hours ago, I taught him the Rings of Raggadorr. I originally thought he'd need at least a month of practice!"

A month might not seem like a short time, but to Masters of the Mystic Arts like them, who had already mastered the spell, it was incredibly brief.

Every one of them had taken at least a year.

Wong had only settled on a month because he had seen how exceptionally gifted Wang Yang was.

A month would at least have been somewhat acceptable to him.

At least they would not have lost quite so miserably. Yet, to his surprise, Wang Yang had fully mastered it after just an hour or two of trying.

Naturally, it had dealt him quite a blow.

"Even one or two months would make him a prodigy. The Rings of Raggadorr require communication with a deity!"

Hamir still found it hard to imagine that anyone could communicate with a deity so quickly.

Even with his own exceptional talent, he could not imagine it.

"You can't imagine it either, can you? I certainly can't. Even the Sorcerer Supreme probably couldn't manage it that quickly!"

Wong said, utterly dejected.

"Take me to see him right away. Does this apprentice have three heads and six arms or something?"

Hamir was brimming with curiosity about this apprentice.
