Kaecilius had been searching for a way to resurrect his wife and child. Eventually, he discovered dark power and was seduced by Dormammu.
In the end, he fell into darkness and could no longer free himself.
Although Wang Yang knew that this man had not yet fallen into darkness, being stared at by someone like him still made him nervous.
"You seem nervous!"
Kaecilius studied Wang Yang's expression and spoke slowly.
Hearing Kaecilius's words, Wang Yang actually calmed down. "Naturally, I'm a little excited to meet Master Kaecilius!"
Kaecilius had no idea what Wang Yang was thinking, nor did he care. He continued, "Don't worry. You may be studying under Wong, but he won't object to me bringing you here!"
Kaecilius thought that was what Wang Yang was worried about.
Wang Yang knew Kaecilius had guessed wrong, but he did not bother explaining.
"Thank you, Master Kaecilius. I understand!"
"Relax. I only called you here to prove something to that fellow!"
"Not only am I stronger than him in combat, but I'm no worse at teaching students, either!"
Pride gleamed in Kaecilius's eyes.
At this point, Kaecilius did not think much of Wang Yang. He was merely an apprentice.
He had looked into this supposed genius, too. The rumors had only come from a few sorcerers. What did they know?
Whenever they met someone slightly more talented than themselves, they thought that person was amazing, a genius.
So Kaecilius dismissed the rumors that Wang Yang was a genius. He even thought they were nothing more than hearsay.
"All right. Pay close attention to what I teach you next. I'm sure Wong will get quite a surprise!"
A strange smile appeared on Kaecilius's face.
Seeing his expression, Wang Yang felt puzzled. He seemed to have become a prop in their rivalry.
Still, the chance to learn Kaecilius's magic did not seem like a bad thing.
Kaecilius ranked among Kamar-Taj's strongest fighters.
His magic was powerful, too.
Not only could he escape from the Sorcerer Supreme, but he was also the only person who had fought his way into the London Sanctum.
Even with Dormammu's support, that still spoke to his exceptional ability.
Kaecilius looked very pleased when he saw the anticipation on Wang Yang's face.
"Very good. Anticipation for magic is something every sorcerer must have!"
"Keep that desire to learn, and only then will you become strong enough."
Wang Yang did not care much about Kaecilius's words. What mattered was actually being strong.
"I'll demonstrate first. Let's see what you can discern!"
Without another word, Kaecilius raised his hand and pointed. The empty space before him shattered like glass.
Countless shards of glass seemed to be embedded in that space, creating a strange, dazzling spectacle.
Wang Yang had already learned the Mirror Dimension, but the one before Kaecilius seemed somewhat different.
His Mirror Dimension seemed more intricate than the magic Wong and Hamir had cast.
Beyond that, Wang Yang could discern nothing.
Although he was stronger than an ordinary apprentice, he still could not compare to a Master of the Mystic Arts.
"What did you notice?"
Kaecilius looked at Wang Yang and asked slowly.
"I can't make out anything specific. I can only tell that your magic is extraordinary, Master, but I can't discern the details!"
After a moment of silence, Wang Yang finally spoke.
Kaecilius merely smiled at Wang Yang's answer.
Inwardly, he felt disdain for the claims from Wong and the others that Wang Yang was a genius.
A genius?
He watched me cast magic and couldn't discern anything?
Back when he had watched the Sorcerer Supreme cast magic, he had immediately gained some insight.
"Still, your powers of observation are decent!"
Kaecilius remained noncommittal.
Just then, the system notification sounded.
Ding! Mirror Dimension Talent Fragment detected. Fuse?
Fuse!
As the fragment fused, Wang Yang gained insight into some of Kaecilius's ingenious uses of the Mirror Dimension.
I never imagined the Mirror Dimension could be used like this in combat!
No wonder Kaecilius was called a genius!
Wang Yang's eyes lit up as he gained a deeper understanding of Kaecilius's talent.
Naturally, Kaecilius had no idea what Wang Yang was thinking. He continued on his own, "I'll teach you this spell now. Let's see how much you can grasp!"
"I hope you won't disappoint me!"
As he spoke, Kaecilius reached out and plucked a piece from the glasslike Mirror Dimension before him.
Then, in his hand, it became a blade.
This was one of Kaecilius's ingenious ways of using the Mirror Dimension.
Wang Yang could also sense danger emanating from it.
Just what I'd expect from Kaecilius.
Even fragments of the Mirror Dimension could be made into weapons.
His control over space might still fall short of the Sorcerer Supreme's, but it was probably not far behind.
Otherwise, he would not have been able to open a Portal inside the Sorcerer Supreme's Mirror Dimension and escape.
Naturally, Kaecilius had no idea what Wang Yang was thinking.
He held the blade and gave it a swing.
"Once your mastery of space reaches its peak, space itself can become your weapon!"
"And space is the sharpest weapon of all!"
As Kaecilius spoke, he suddenly approached a large tree. With a single swing, he sliced it clean through the middle.
More importantly, the cut surface was as smooth as a mirror.
Wang Yang's pupils contracted at the sight.
Even his Magic Shield probably could not withstand that power.
The trees here were ironwood, after all, extremely tough. Even an axe might not bite into them easily.
Yet Kaecilius had done this with nothing more than a casual swing.
"All right. I'll explain how to cast it now, but how much you learn will depend on your talent!"
Despite his words, Kaecilius was already somewhat disappointed in this genius.
He had thought this genius might pose a challenge to him, but Wang Yang was clearly not as gifted as he had imagined.
I really don't know why Wong was making such a mystery out of him.
After teaching Wang Yang, Kaecilius was ready to send him away.
After all, this spell alone would keep the boy occupied for a long time.
Just as he turned to enter his room, he suddenly sensed a surge of spatial power behind him.
Kaecilius whipped his head around.
The moment he did, his eyes widened.
In Wang Yang's hand was a blade that looked as though it had been formed from glass.
Spatial Blade!
